Both in good knick. Both mean business.
Let's hope it's a good'un.

Agree Fury.
Should be good, but now ive seen the weigh in and final presser, I think Groves in in over his head here and gets stopped around 6 similar to Bute.

No sign of nerves from Groves then, looked composed while Carl looked a little to pumped to me. Constantly whispering sweet nothings in Georges ear rather than having a face to face, and then going back for seconds after they had been separated.
Really hope this is a good fight, Groves just has to be competitive for his standing to improve for me, if not then it knocks him back a fair few levels.

You're watching a different stream to me. I thought Groves looked massively up for it.

His face just looks even more pastier and paler than normal with that big massive blue hat on.
Looks a bit drained. But maybe its just the big bulky clothes etc. I didn't see the actual weigh in. Will have a look at the pics now

Didn't look at all drained. He looked solid, healthy and up for it. Certainly wasn't backing down!

Re: FROCH VS GROVES - WEIGH IN LIVE
This. Yesterday at the press conference I thought Groves looked nervous, and when he started shouting at the end of the stare down a few alarm bells started going off. However today he looked calm, didn't say a word and just looked straight back at Froch. Compare that to Froch who wanted to go back at Groves after security stepped in, Groves looked very calm and as if he knew exactly what he has to do.KingMonkey wrote:Didn't look at all drained. His face just looks a bit sucked in. Seen the Groves pic but cant find the Froch one. Take it he is chiselled as usual?
Re: FROCH VS GROVES - WEIGH IN LIVE
Yeah Froch looking ripped.
Groves played the weigh in very well I thought...he had his game face on, didn't look at all intimidated and managed to keep his composure whilst maintaining a look screaming (not literally) 'I mean business'.

Re: FROCH VS GROVES - WEIGH IN LIVE
Just reading up on SKY that Froch has told Groves he's in trouble and that David Haye will tell him the same thing. What's Haye got to do with the price of fish?
Anyone else thing Froch's obsession with Haye mirrors that of STRONGY? Listening to the bluff, bluster and bravado, it's not hard to imagine they're the same person and, with constant references to lack of respect coupled with that big nose of his you can see how Froch/Strongy got that chip on his shoulder

Re: FROCH VS GROVES - WEIGH IN LIVE
Groves looked very calm and ready to go, watching it you would think he was the seasoned fighter at this level and Froch was like the edgy novice trying clumsily to intimidate his opponent but failing miserably.

Hope I'm wrong but I just can't see how Groves is going to win........Froch has the longer reach, The better chin and more power.......
Groves may have a better jab but I can see him caught sticking it........
Chuck in the Booth stuff and his new trainer looking like a Yes Man as someone alluded to earlier........
Not good.

Re: FROCH VS GROVES - WEIGH IN LIVE
You could probably say he had all those advantages against Dirrell, Ward and Taylor and all boxed his ears off, remains to be seen if Groves can box to the level required to win but no doubt in my mind that Froch can be out boxed if the right skills are possessed and the game plan followed. I think the power thing is subjective because i think Groves has the better one punch power and added to his very good timing he always has a chance to land an absolute peach which could put Froch on his backside as he comes in, but Froch has the heavier hands and will hurt you with everything he throws.TRUSSMAN66 wrote:Hope I'm wrong but I just can't see how Groves is going to win........Froch has the longer reach, The better chin and more power.......

I think Froch forcing a stoppage is the most likely outcome but theres no result in this one would surprise me.

Froch on Groves a couple of years ago, Carl must know he has the ability to trouble him and that he could have to stop him late on.

According to Froch the Kessler one doesn't count because he beat him in a rematch.....only is a Froch world eh?
Re: FROCH VS GROVES - WEIGH IN LIVE
Can we re-evaluate Joe Louis then as he beat Schmeling in their rematch?Reborn-DeeMcK-Reborn wrote:According to Froch the Kessler one doesn't count because he beat him in a rematch.....only is a Froch world eh?
Lennox Lewis also looks tremendous using the Carl Froch method of judging a fighter
Although neither of them look as good as Carl Froch

Re: FROCH VS GROVES - WEIGH IN LIVE
Part of the banter between Groves and Froch was which one of them is better mates with David Haye. You were a bit off the mark there with that post in all respects which isn't unusual.DAVE667 wrote:Just reading up on SKY that Froch has told Groves he's in trouble and that David Haye will tell him the same thing. Re: FROCH VS GROVES - WEIGH IN LIVE
Fair point Truss, that said i thought Dirrell was the clear winner to be fair and anywhere else in the a world Froch loses his title that night. The Taylor fight in some ways could give Groves more encouragement than any other though because Froch was really hurt on a few occasions and put down by a man boxing well and timing his shots for when Froch comes charging forward just the kind of tactics Groves will surely use.

Froch has got into a top 10 p4p list...........Has become a hugely respected fighter around the world and is British....
Why not just be proud you have someone like him...........Because no one else is near him over here pertaining to achievement........
Saw this with Hatton............The more succesful he gets the more he is trashed..

Saw the weigh-in. Thought both looked fine. Groves looked angry and focussed. Froch was a bit rowdier. Nothing to be read into it really. On to the fight.

I thought he won as well but could see why it was given to froch in the UK.
Like the old saying goes, you have to rip it from the champ in his backyard, not cruise to a decision.
If he had opened up more, hit him harder, put power into his combinations then fine. But he boxed like a challenger and not like a champion

As to your last post it's hot air and childish insults. You were having a go at Froch and then me when you really didn't know what your were talking about. That's the fact here.
You're a waffler of epic proportions.

I'm sure they won't be pandering to the US (can't imagine there's the interest) but are we talking about 8pm start with Froch-Groves ringwalks 10.30ish, d'you think??

STRONGY's just being really mean to me 9using big four and five letter words) and I'm too immature to respond in any meaningful way. Maybe it's because it's Friday...but then again, I've been a git all week so perhaps it's something else.
