Warren Gatland : BBC Sports Personality Coach of the Year
First topic message reminder :
Another award ceremony. Another award for the Kiwi who had his recent Uk coaching award ratified with a second gong.
The undisputed British coach of the year for his efforts with the lions, who were also team of the year.
Well done to the Kiwi, for topping the rankings in his adopted home land.
His abrasive media style, many time maligned controversial pre-game media mind games and ability to make harsh and unpopular selectorial decisions seem to point the way forward for British coaches.
Leigh Halfpenny's bid to be sports personality of the year was dashed by charismaticScotsman Brit Andy Murray, who unlike Leigh, couldn't be there in person and then revealing a snag in the process had to apologise for sounding so dull and indifferent, revealing that he just didn't come across with very much personality despite being fairly good at tennis. Perhaps he needed some lessons on media handling from fellow scot Brit, X factor runner up Nicholas McDonald who I'm sure would've said it was "as aaaaaabsolutely amazun' aaaaabsolutely increeeedible and that it just meant aaaaaaabsolutely everythun'" to him. Twelve times.

The 5 million Scots and 3 million Welsh and 1/2 million UK Kiwis have cast their votes.

If you had been a proper resident of the UK you would know that no one was going to get the Sports personality over Mr Murray. Winning Wimbledon for the first time since the 1930's no one was going to get it over him.
Now I will have to sit down and think of NZ's last winner of an open tennis tournament, won't take long mind.
Considering Britain's only produced one since Fred Perry back when Adam wore short pants, and they'll revert to that record when Scotland cut the apron strings next year, it's a bit of a limp argument isn't it?
We had Chris Lewis back in the 80's who made a Wimbledon final. Considering Brits have only managed that a couple of times themselves, it's not a bad achievement considering funding for tennis in NZ is about enough to get our top player's racquet restrung twice a year.
Tony Wilding won Wimbledon four consecutive times, was world number 1 winning three world championships in the same year.
Acutally, sorry, what was your totally un-researched point?
I'll leave you with some reading to start your research: http://www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/its-wimbledon-fortnight--welsh-1914877
1914 I did not say you had not won it but 99 years ago you are sooo sad to even try and counter the argument and Adam had short pants on when Perry won it, must have been a swimmer in his old mans sack for your boy.
