The show opens with Triple H’s music, and The Game makes his way into the arena with Stephanie McMahon by his side.

Stephanie says tonight, each and every one of us will be part of history, as we’ll witness one of the most important matches in professional wrestling.  The WWE Champion vs. the World Champion.  Hunter talks about Lou Thesz wrestling Buddy Rodgers.  He talks about how that match led to the split of the titles.  Hunter name checks some of the most important champions of all time, people like Hogan, Austin, Flair and Michaels.  Hunter says tonight those two championships become one.  Only one man will walk out, and into the history books, as the champion of champions.  Stephanie asks if it will be Cena or Orton, and says tonight we’ll crown the WWE World Heavyweight Champion before the two walk to the back.

This leads to a video package highlighting the unification match, and the history behind those two belts.
The pyro hits, and Michael Cole welcomes us to the show, calling it the single most important night in WWE history.
CM Punk’s music plays, and the straight edge superstar makes his way to the ring for the first match of the evening.
The Shield is out next, of course making their way to the ring through the crowd.

CM Punk vs. The Shield

Punk will start things off tonight against Dean Ambrose.  The bell rings, and we’re ready to begin.  We get a lock up, and Ambrose goes behind, trying to push Punk to his corner, but Punk avoids it.  Another lock up and Punk takes Ambrose over with a snap mare.  Rollins tags in and Punk bails to the floor.  Rollins follows and Punk heads back into the ring.  Punk knocks Ambrose off the apron, and catches Rollins with a couple of quick shots on his way back into the ring.  Punk buries his shoulder in Rollins’ midsection in the corner before hitting a couple of back elbows, and a big neck breaker.  Punk picks Rollins up for another neck breaker, and then a third.
Punk traps Rollins in a front face lock, but Rollins fights out and makes the tag to Reigns.  Punk scores with a couple of forearms, but Reigns lifts Punk by the neck and throws him into his own corner, stomping away.  Punk is able to fight out of the corner, but runs into a big forearm from Reigns.  Rollins tags back in and stomps at Punk’s back before hitting a neck breaker of his own.  Rollins tags out to Ambrose who hits a quick elbow drop, and a series of stomps to the midsection.  Ambrose picks Punk up and whips him into the Shield corner before tagging out to Reigns.

Reigns comes in with a nasty clothesline to Punk, then hits a kick to Punk’s ribs.  Punk slaps Reigns and hits him with a couple of forearms, but runs right into a huge flying clothesline before Reigns dumps Punk out to the floor. Reigns follows out to the floor and tries for a spear, but he misses Punk and flies over the announcer’s table, hitting hard.  Reigns makes it back into the ring, and Punk goes right on the attack, ripping at Reign’s eyes and pummeling him with forearms.  Punk picks Reigns up to his feet, but Reigns hip tosses Punk over the top rope and to the floor.
Rollins tags in and he and Punk trade right hands.  Punk teases the GTS, but a distraction from Ambrose allows Rollins to score with an enzugiri for two.  Rollins calls for the GTS, mocking Punk before shouldering him.  Punk fights out and shoves Rollins into Ambrose.  Punk hits a big kick to Rollins’ temple that gets him a two count.

Punk hits Rollins with a back kick, a couple of clotheslines, and a swinging neck breaker.  Punk hits Rollins with the running knee in the corner, and a huge cross body from the top rope for another two count.  Punk goes right into the anaconda vice, but Ambrose breaks it up.  Ambrose makes the tag and picks Punk up to his feet, shoving him into the corner and burying his shoulder in Punk’s gut.  Ambrose sits Punk on the top rope and follows him up, but Punk is able to head butt him away.  Punk stands on the top rope and goes for the elbow drop.  He knocks Rollins from the apron and gets a two count on Ambrose.
Punk calls for the GTS, shouldering Ambrose.  He drops Ambrose to hit Rollins with a GTS.  Punk shoulders Ambrose again, Ambrose fights out, but Reigns comes in and misses Punk, spearing Ambrose.  Punk pins Ambrose and gets the three count.

Winner: CM Punk

Backstage, AJ Lee is interviewed with Tamina.  AJ tells Renee that if she paid attention, she’d know AJ always wins when it counts.  AJ’s number is one, as in the one woman who counts.  She didn’t win Slammy for Diva of the year because the WWE Universe is a joke, as is Natalya, and Total Divas.  AJ says it’s sad, but after tonight, she’ll be the only one laughing.

Back out in the arena, Natalya’s music hits, and she makes her way to the ring to not much of a reaction at all.

AJ is out next, accompanied by Tamina.  She skips her way down to the ring, also not getting much of a reaction.

WWE Divas Championship Match: AJ Lee vs. Natalya

The bell rings and Natalya goes for the immediate roll up.  Natalya takes AJ over in a headlock, but AJ turns things around with a headscissors.  A little bit of chain wrestling leads to another pin attempt for Natalya.  Natalya takes AJ over and begins working on the arm of the champion.  AJ tries to fight out of the hold, but she’s taken over, then hit with a snap mare dropkick combo.  AJ tries for a baseball slide, but Natalya catches her and throws her into the guardrail.  Natalya brings things back into the ring, but she’s kicked from the apron off a distraction from Tamina.

AJ brings things back into the ring for a near fall.  AJ traps Natalya in a rear chin lock, but Natalya fights out of it, only to run into a huge back kick from AJ for another two count.  AJ clamps on a front face lock, but Natalya fights up to her feet and out of the hold, running AJ into the corner hard.  AJ comes back with double boots to the face of Natalya before slamming her into the turnbuckle and kicking away at Natalya’s gut.  AJ misses a splash in the corner, but she’s able to counter a body slam into a guillotine hold.  Natalya fights out of it, and avoids a roll up, dropkicking a seated AJ in the face.  Natalya hits AJ with a series of clotheslines, and a quick suplex.  Anoter suplex from Natalya, and then a Michinoku driver type slam sets Natalya up for the sharpshooter.  AJ screams in pain, but she crawls for the ropes.  Natalya drags her into the middle of the ring, but AJ is able to roll through and reverse it.  Natalya is distracted by Tamina, and this leads to AJ locking in the black wide hold.  Natalya breaks it.

A big clothesline from Natalya lays out AJ, and she goes right back for the sharpshooter.  AJ counters into a roll up, and holds Natalya’s hair for the three count.

Winner and STILL WWE Divas Champion: AJ Lee

We get another video package highlighting the history of the WWE Championship, showing some of the big names that have held the belt, including Backlund, Rodgers, Hogan, Hart, the Rock, Edge, Guerrero, and the Undertaker.  Also, those who have held the World Championship, including Harley Race, Dusty Rhodes, Ric Flair, and more.

Damien Sandow is out to the arena, and he says he’s interrupting the event with a PSA.  He says the following words and phrases are garbage ‘y’all’, ‘yeehaw’, and ‘Big E Langston’ followed by ‘Intercontinental Champion’, but he’s going to change that right now.

Langston is out next, and he doesn’t get much out of the fans.

WWE Intercontinental Championship Match: Big E Langston vs. Damien Sandow

The bell rings, and Sandow goes right into the headlock, getting tossed off.  Langston shrugs off everything Sandow throws at him.  Langston takes Sandow into the corner and hits him with a big right before tossing him across the ring and following with a big splash.  Langston takes Sandow over with a backdrop, but Sandow drops down and goes to the floor.  Langston follows, and blocks a right, hitting a right of his own.  Sandow is able to grab Langston and pull him into the ring post, following up with a quick baseball slide.  Sandow takes things back into the ring for a near fall, then hits Langston with a series of rights and a couple of quick elbow drops.  Sandow traps Langston in a rear chin lock, but Langston fights out.  Sandow is able to turn things into a front face lock, but Langston tosses him away.  Langston sets up for the Big Ending, but Sandow fights out and hits a nasty clothesline.  Sandow hits a couple of head butts, and a big elbow drop, followed by the elbow of disdain.  A knee drop from Sandow sets up another two count, and Sandow goes back to the rear chin lock.

Langston stands up and backs Sandow into the corner, hitting a spear like maneuver in the corner, but Sandow comes right back with a beautiful dropkick, and another knee drop.  Sandow hits Langston with a series of head butts to the back, mounting Langston in the corner.  Langston lifts Sandow up, and drops him with an electric chair drop.
Langston pops up and hits a big clothesline, the follows with a belly to belly suplex.  Langston hits the ropes and executes a big splash to Langston’s back.  Langston tries for the Big Ending, but Sandow counters with the Edgecution for two.  Langston fights back, trying for another Big Ending, but Sandow turns it into a roll up.  Sandow hits double boots out of the corner, but runs into an explosive shoulder tackle from Langston.  Langston hits the Big Ending and gets the three.

Winner and STILL WWE Intercontinental Champion: Big E Langston

Randy Orton is shown getting ready backstage and Vince McMahon walks in.  McMahon shakes Orton’s hand and simply walks off.

Cole checks in with tonight’s All Star Panel of Mick Foley and Booker T.  Josh Mattews says Miz was part of the panel, but he used the opportunity to talk trash about Kofi Kingston, and it led to Kofi coming and and getting into a scuffle with Miz.  This led to the Authority booking Miz vs. Kingston, and it will be a No DQ match.  Foley says that’s what’s best for business.

When things are sent back to ringside, The Real Americans are out with Zeb Coalter in tow for the fatal four way match for the WWE Tag Team Championship match.

Rey Mysterio is out next, to a nice pop from the crowd (though the crowd has definitely not been all that active tonight, so it’s not saying much), followed by his partner the Big Show.
Ryback and Curtis Axel are the third team to make their way to the ring, and again, not much of a reaction out of the fans.

Cody Rhodes and Goldust are out to the ring last, and the champions they too get a lackluster reaction.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match: Cody Rhodes and Goldust vs. The Real Americans vs. Rey Mysterio and the Big Show vs. Ryback and Curtis Axel

The bell rings and it looks like Ryback and Cody Rhodes will kick things off.  We get a lock up and Ryback shoves Cody away.  Cody comes right back, and gets a clubbing blow to the back.  Cody reverses a belly to back suplex, and hits Ryback with a big right hand.  Cody catches Ryback with a boot in the corner, and a middle rope dropkick to the knee.  Goldust comes in, and he’s quickly shoved back into Ryback’s corner.  Axel makes the tag and hits Goldust with a nice dropkick before clamping on a side headlock.  Goldust scores with a kick to the gut, and a dropkick of his own on Axel before working over the arm.  Goldust clamps on another headlock, and Big Show makes the blind tag.  Show comes in and Axel tries to catch him with a kick, and some arm work, but Show grabs Axel’s arm and wears it out instead.  Show traps Axel in the ropes and hits a giant open hand chop.

The crowd asks for another chop, and Show is happy to oblige.  Another one more time chant, and Show comes up with yet another open hand chop to Axel’s chest.  Show tags out to Mysterio who comes in with a couple of quick forearms, but Axel quickly tosses him into the corner and slams him to the mat, hitting an elbow drop and tagging in Ryback.  Ryback hits a splash from the middle rope and pounds on Mysterio with a series of right hands.  Ryback slams Mysterio head first into the corner and tags Axel back in.  Axel grinds his forearm against the back of Mysterio’s head, but when he tosses Mysterio into the corner, Mysterio fights out and both men hit cross body blocks, falling to the mat.

Ryback tags in and hits Mysterio with a huge clubbing blow to the back.  Goldust makes the blind tag, and he comes in with a series of clotheslines to Ryback.  Goldust hits Ryback with a big right hand, and a spine buster, but Ryback stands and kicks Goldust away.  Ryback tries for a power bomb, but he’s rolled up by Goldust for three instead.

Axel and Ryback have been eliminated

Ryback clotheslines Goldust, and Swagger comes in, going on the offensive.  Swagger tags out to Cesaro who comes in with a series of shots to Goldust’s gut.  Swagger tags back in and hits a series of knees to the gut before clamping Goldust in a front face lock.

Goldust makes it to his feet and pushes back toward his corner, but Swagger forces Goldust back into the Real American’s corner.  Cesaro tags in and sends Goldust to the floor, only to tag back out to Swagger.  Swagger goes to the floor and hits Goldust with a giant charging clothesline.  Swagger sends Goldust back into the ring and tags out to Cesaro.  Goldust tries to fight back, but Cesaro wrenches Goldust up and over, slamming him to the mat for a two count.  Cesaro works over Goldust’s arm, but Goldust is able to fight back up to his feet.  Cesaro hits Goldust with a head butt to the stomach before tagging out to Swagger.  Swagger chokes Goldust on the middle rope, then works him over with a bear hug.

Goldust fights out of the hold, and struggles to make the tag, but he settles for a roll up on Swagger for two.  Goldust hits Swagger with a big right, then a back elbow from the middle rope.  Cesaro makes the tag, and he’s got Goldust by the legs.  He hits a big swing, taking Goldust around almost ten times, before slingshotting Goldust into a big slam from Swagger.  Cody breaks up the pin, stomping at Swagger.  Swagger hits the Swagger bomb out of the corner, and Cesaro tags in, following up with a leaping double stomp for another two count.  Cesaro locks in a rear chin lock on Goldust, but Goldust is quick to fight out and score with a yoshi-tonic.

Goldust sends Swagger over the top rope and to the floor, then kicks away Cesaro.  Goldust goes for the tag, but Swagger pulls Cody from the apron, and Cody is favoring his knee.  Goldust hits a hurricanrana from the second rope, and Big Show tosses Swagger into the guard rail on the floor.

Cesaro boots Mysterio from the apron, then turns around into a powerslam from Goldust.  Goldust makes the tag to Big Show, who comes in with a couple of clotheslines, and a huge flap jack to Cesaro.  Show tosses Cesaro into the corner before hitting a back splash, and a running shoulder block.  Show tries for the chokeslam, but breaks it to hit the KO punch on Swagger.  Cesaro comes off the middle rope, and right into another KO punch from Show that’s good for a three count.

The Real Americans have been eliminated

Show backs away and helps Goldust to his feet before beginning the next phase of the match.  Goldust is able to lock Show in a headlock, but Show fights out and hits a shoulder tackle to knock Goldust to the floor.  Show picks Goldust up to the apron by his head and hip tosses him back into the ring.  Show runs into a boot from Goldust in the corner, and Goldust hits a cross body, for another two count.  Goldust is able to score with a right hand, but Show catches him with a chokeslam.  Goldust is able to reverse it into a DDT for two.  Cody makes the tag, and he and Goldust hit a double suplex on Show.  Cody gets a two count.
Cody tries for the disaster kick, but Show counters with a huge open hand chop to the chest.  Mysterio makes the tag and comes in with a hurricanrana.  Cody back drops him to the apron, but Mysterio sends him away and hits a seated denton from the top rope.  Mysterio scores with a kick to the side of Cody’s head for a two count.  Rhodes runs into a back elbow from Mysterio.  Cody is able to his the disaster kick on Mysterio for a two count.  Cody waits for Mysterio to stand and he tries for cross Rhodes, but Mysterio fights out and sends Cody into the ropes.  He then sends Goldust into the ropes and hits the 619. Show pulls Goldust from the ring and tosses him into the barricade.  Show grabs Rhodes and Rhodes fights out and pushes Show into the ring post.  Cody heads back into the ring with a springboard move that Mysterio turns into a power bomb for two.  Mysterio counters cross Rhodes, sending Rhodes into the ropes.  Rhodes counters the 619 and tries for the cross Rhodes, but it’s countered into a roll up.  Cody is finally able to hit Cross Rhodes, and he gets the three count.

Winners and STILL WWE Tag Team Champions: Goldust and Cody Rhodes

Cole throws it to the expert panel with Josh Matthews.  Booker T says Daniel Bryan just could not overcome the odds.  Foley says Bray Wyatt has ‘it’.  Matthews says we’re just moments away from the unification match, and he asks for predictions.  Foley says TLC is nowhere to be when you can’t take the blows, and Orton may have a glass jaw.  Foley calls for Cena, and Booker T calls for Orton to win the match.
This leads into another video package highlighting the events leading up to this match, again referencing a good bit of history behind the titles.

Randy Orton’s music hits, and he’s the first competitor to make his way to the ring for the unification TLC match.  Tables, ladders, and chairs line the entrance way to the ring.

Winner and NEW WWE World Heavyweight Champion: Randy Orton

Orton holds both titles high over his head and celebrates while Cena recovers in the corner.  He’s interrupted by Vince McMahon’s music, and Vince makes his way to the ring with Triple H and Stephanie.
Stephanie, Hunter and Vince are all clapping on their way down.  Stephanie hugs Orton when she gets into the ring, and Hunter shakes Orton’s hand, as does Vince.  The show ends with Cena looking on disappointedly while Vince, Stephanie and Hunter present their unified WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Sounds like an ok show.  Still a bit miffed that there was only one gimmick match on the card, no tables or ladders or even a chairs match this year.  And it sounds like the crowd really didnt help things.

The crowd were awful, during the tag match the faces were desperately trying to get some life out of them...that was my mine gripe in what was an otherwise solid but not really overwhelming show.

All was I expected really, not many shocks. I was certain Cena wasn't going to win clean when he offered the match to Bryan after his victory. Liked the turnbuckle at top of the ladder thing too even though isn't it the handcuff/unscrew rope thing a rehash of their last feud?

They used handcuffs during the I-Quit match if i remember correctly. Punk was also handcuffed and unscrewed the ropes at TLC 2011.

Crowd were dire, you need a good crowd for a PPV, or the PPV won't work.

I liked the shield vs Punk match. Wasn't a fan of it opening the show, but it was a great match. Also it did very well in a logical sense. CM Punk continues his impressive run and there is more cracks in the shield, with Roman Reigns being center of attention.

AJ lee won in what i thought was one of the best divas matches in a while.

The Tag team match was decent, but i have no idea why the Uso's were not in the match.

Bryan vs The Wyatts, went as i expected. Nothing special though. This is creepy chants were quite funny after that spider thing though.

Finally the main event was better than i expected actually. Ending i found a bit boring. Not going to whinge though, at least Cena didn't win!

I think Punk opening the show will be kinda symbolic, I think he'll be winning the Rumble or at least being a major player in the run up to WrestleMania, coming from curtain jerker to Rumble winner has WWE spin all over it.

With Punk and Bryan in basically the same type of match you knew 1 of them had to open up.

Really glad there was no screwy finish in the Unified title match tho'...Orton finally looks strong and credible

Orton was very impressive and although I am not his biggest fan, I really enjoyed seeing him beat Cena CLEAN.

Thought that was a very good PPV. Standard of wrestling was brilliant at times. Best divas match in a good time, Natalya isnt interesting enough as a character to be champion when AJ is this good, but they should be looking to have more like her in the division.

Cena has lost clean to Orton and Bryan this year. Be worth remembering when he wins his next big match and everyone explodes

Also I think that Aj Lee's finisher is one of my favourite submissions ever, provided it's done on someone who can hold up her weight like Natalya

Who couldn't hold up AJ's weight?

Big E probably dumps more than she weighs

enjoyed the ppv until about 5 minutes before the end- weird ending to say the least, thought a swerve would happen. other than that, good ppv

I'm certain the ending to Cena/Orton was botched.

Given the fact that Cena hadn't lost clean to a full timer since 2009-ish, I think reservations about Cena are well warranted. The ending was botched, I think. Cena was quite obviously supposed to break through the table... and he couldn't even do that!

Unfortunate botch but looked more painful for the head shot! Seems unfair to criticise him, but people always will

Cena was obviously meant to go through the table, it actually looked better the way it went down though, to blame Cena is a bit short sighted, when Orton's pulling on the rope Cena is kinda left to go with the momentum, if he can't get his feet positioned correctly to propel him in that direction when Orton pulls him its hard to then blame him.

Just because something doesn't work out 100% as planned it doesn't make it a botch

I agree, I thought the bump actually looked better for being botched. More realistic and brutal.

Totally agree, the WWE are far too staged at times, when they need to deviate from the script even if it is just a bump like Cena took

I'm not blaming Cena, it's just the ladder slipped away from under his feet before he could really throw himself through the table.

Fandango won Shot after hitting the top rope leg drop following a Summer Rae distraction.

What is Fandango? I know he's supposed to be a heel but has he ever done anything to make the fans dislike him?
