Ulster 2013/2014
First topic message reminder :
One guy I think deserves high praise from these two Treviso games is Sean Doyle.
As you know I reported some doubt about his future and that he needed to put his hand - he has done so big time.
Few more games like that and he will be with us next year for sure.

Damn!!!!
But hey, with all the inability to supply concrete agreements in these parts who could blame him. He looked to be a bit of a beast.
I had read on that other forum that a lock has been signed but the announcement was being held off for reasons that have flown from my memory.

On the same subject, I do wonder if KOTH on that forum is Geoff in disguise
Rumours on there that Fez will be featuring for the Ravens soon. Mind you rumours on there usually turn out to be just rumours.

This is what puts me of that forum - I don't trust anyone. The guy in mention simply said "Keegan Daniel Going to Japan" without saying anything else.
Its certainly not public yet according to google, so unless he heard it from someone in the know - I remain slightly hopeful.
Dont forget Ferris was 'going to Japan'. It wouldn't be surprising for players to mention they are considering big money and sushi when angling for a deal.

Do the Ravens have anymore games this season?

Rumours are always just rumours lads- on 606v2, on UAFC, on the FRU. Even when there is truth behind them talks can be at a relatively advanced stage and still break down. And Ulster Rugby, who used to have more leaks than a sailing boat made out of swiss cheese, have gotten a lot better at keeping things out of the public domain when it suits them. Not that their perfect, but they are better now.
I generally take it all with a pinch of salt until the formal announcement is made.

They are even louder now on 'the other forum'.
According to the latest 1F is not making an appearance for the Ravens but will be involved in the rearranged game v Scarlets in some way.

Not sure, I suspect it will be online via the website/twitter/facebook
I'm hoping it's new signings related, hopefully we've finalised them all and announce them at the same time. Where's Geoff when you need him?

Pretty sure it's a HEC promotional video or something, mulligan was tweeting about seeing it earlier on in the week.
Re: Ulster 2013/2014
There is also talk of our new second row signing being Ali Williams on a two year deal but somehow I don't see this .
Re: Ulster 2013/2014
Somehow making more QF tickets available??? lol
I don't see this being anything newsworthy - not at the time on a sunday night - it will most likely be media related I'd expect.

Re: Ulster 2013/2014
I can assure you it is not big news from the transfer front. Dominoes lads, dominoes. Not the pizza though. Mike Ross ate all them. The greedy swine. We can't confirm anything else as they are dependent on other things happening at other teams with other transfers. Someone explained to me on Friday night but I fell asleep. There was a girl in the golf club, a girl. Not a old woman. She was about 19 lads. All legs and boobs. Or so I was imagining. Won't tell you any lies, I didn't even look at her face. No need frankly when the rest was working well. Well balanced. Like a Schmidt backrow. Different parts doing their job effectively.
Now.
Where was I?
Ah yes. Boobs. You hear me lads? Boobs.
That is all.
Except to say, you are all welcome.

I'm trying to be positive these days Dick. I'm starting to feel a little worse for wear after all the numerous times I've been lambasted for speaking my mind...
so with that in mind - IT WAS AMAZING.

You mean #ourDS ?
Yea I remember commenting that it was poorly done - the presenter talked about Nevin Spences death and the injury difficulties with exactly the same 'anguish' face.
The actor saw the comments and ended up contacting me directly...
Very awkward and i felt bad.
Needless to say Social Media and me don't mix.
Thats why I left Facebook last week! Enough is enough!

Re: Ulster 2013/2014
Just saw Seymours try for Scotland against France.
Is there any feeling around the Ulster management that perhaps letting him go was the wrong call?
I can't remember if he left because he wanted to have the chance of international rugby for Scotland or whether Ulster just didn't think he made the grade.
Certainly would still be behind Trimble, Bowe, Gilroy - but its squad players of that calibre that good teams need.
Fair play to him though, he's doing well for himself!

Not sure he would be behind Gilroy on current form but when you consider Scholes has looked very good I think Gilroy and he are more talented players. Bearing in mind then we have Trimble and Tommy Bowe it's hard to imagine that Humph and co are kicking themselves

Re: Ulster 2013/2014
Ulster wanted to keep him but couldn't promise him game time with the other wingers we have in our squad and he wanted to play every week. When you also consider that Ulster wouldn't have been offering him big money to sit on the bench and he had next to no chance of playing test rugby for Ireland, going over to Scotland and trying to break into their national team must have been a no-brainer for him

So Ferris didn't play in the Ravens game, any chance of him making the bench against the Scarlets?

Yea Golden, somebody said that he wasn't going to play the Ravens game, but that it had no bearing on the planned appearance v Scarlets.
I don't know what to make of it tbh.
Either they are so confident that they think he doesn't need a lower level game...
or they are so worried and thing this could well prove to be the last time he takes to the field and at least wants to allow him to end it all at Ravenhill rather than Deramore.

If they were that pessimistic would they let him take the field at all?

I guess there is no room for sentiment in professional sport - but I thought perhaps since he'd worked so hard for so long, that they might let him throw on the Ulster shirt for one final injury!
But I very much hope that is not the case!

There was me thinking there was saving him for a bench spot as a crippled Ferris is better than McComish as an option
