New TNA Heavyweight Champion (contains Final Resolution spoilers)
*SPOILER ALERT*
......................................................................................................................................................................................................................
Magnus is the new TNA Heavyweight Champion! I am genuinely pleased after the push he`s been given this year that he`s finally become world champion. Am I right in believing that he is the first ever British TNA world champion? I`m really happy TNA seem to believe in his potential. He`s been given a great look with his new ring attire and merchandise, which suggests they really think he is a viable "brand". He`s got the physique and moveset to be a credible champion. However, it seems that they`re turning him heel!? I personally don`t want him heel, but I understand that they would probably play him as the heel against a returning AJ. There is a logical story to be told - he`s still young (27 I think?) so it makes sense for him to align with Dixie with her promises of private jets and becoming the future of TNA. While Magnus becomes the corporate sell-out, AJ comes back and reclaims his rightful place as the people`s world champion; the guy who defeated all the odds to become champion in the first place. This sets up the unification match perfectly, where either AJ gets screwed out of the title by Magnus and Dixie or AJ overcomes once again for the feel good, justice is done resolution to the whole Dixie Land fiasco, ending her reign of terror over TNA. With the way TNA have played out the AJ styles/Dixie land storyline so far since BFG, I am confident they will play out this storyline well and it will deliver. TNA`s writing has improved since Hogan left and I think 2014 is looking promising. TNA have actually managed to do a WWE storyline better than the WWE and have pushed a young - and to a degree "homegrown" talent - in Magnus.

Its quite good writing from TNA in that they booked themselves into a corner with AJ Styles and his whole redemption storyline but they managed to logically take him out the picture again as soon as they blew the final whistle at BFG.
Magnus looks supreme, head and shoulders better than the likes of Wade Barrett

Re: New TNA Heavyweight Champion (contains Final Resolution spoilers)
The Genesis main event seems to be coming together nicely - Magnus, new champ vs. Gunner who won the title shot in the Feast or Fired match.
I can see it playing out something like this:
Storm comes down to the ring with Gunner to show his support. Magnus and Gunner go back and forth in a fairly even match for about 10 minutes or so. The action sprawls out of the ring and as Gunner goes to clothesline Magnus or something, he accidently hits Storm. The action resumes in the ring and Gunner manages to get the upper hand, hitting his finisher on Magnus. Just before he can get the pin, ECIII or Spud run down to the ring to distract the referee and as he`s dealing with the interference, Storm slips into the ring and super kicks Gunner. Seeing Gunner knocked out, ECIII/Spud leave ringside just as Magnus manages to drape an arm over Gunner as the referee turns around and makes the 3 count. Magnus grabs his title and exits the ring to celebrate on the ramp with Dixie and Co. while Gunner wakes up and demands an explanation from Storm, who after a tense stare down says nothing and leaves via the side entrance to backstage.
I think giving Gunner a title shot is a good idea, he gets a small push, TNA testing the waters with crowd reaction and letting him show what he is capable of in the spotlight. Depending on how well Gunner does at selling the spots, he could get a good run in the BFG series. It also sets up his feud with Storm where Storm may even turn heel, with him justifying his actions saying he`s been cheated and screwed before by former tag partners and so he took the pre-emptive first strike this time.
Magnus I think should be booked like Roode was, when he was champion; a strong heel who is a genuine force in the ring, but always ends up winning underhandedly in the end. I think Magnus could play that part well.
