As much as I respect the man, he took a disguise with him knowing full well he was going to be beaten and humiliated and whilst it takes a rare kind of courage to do that (Audley's been doing it for years) it was still a poor showing. There's being beaten and going out on your shield. I'm just not sure Patterson's defence falls into that last catagory
He tried, though. And defeat crushed him. Douglas didn't try.

Can't say i'm a fan of the deification some boxers receive, Louis was good but he was certainly not unbeatable and had his flaws, he was far from the perfect fighting machine.

I don't think anyone's suggested Louis was the perfect fighting machine. He was better than good, though.

Wlad vs Sanders was a pretty poor effort (and somewhat green for someone with 40-odd fights' experience). I have to say though, the third knockdown (early in the second round) just makes me giggle because it is such a fast shot & Wlad is so dazed he just does not see it coming and the expression on his face is a corker.
Haye's performance against Wlad was pretty lame. Can't believe nobody's mentioned it.
