Scott Williams re-signs for Scarlets
Apologies if this been done but wasn't he one of the so called 6 the WRU wanted on central contract? Good news for him to get it sorted and good news for Wales that he is staying.
Do we know if he was offered a central contract and what about his Scarlets contract have they broke the bank to keep him etc.

Thanks but no thanks Rog...
A more pertinent question is if the Scarlets had the "inventory" to keep SW, wtf were the union negotiating a CC with him?

Also guessing they couldn't afford to keep Wiiliams and JD

Sam must be thinking he's dropped a massive clanger here. That's AWJ, SW & 1/2P who decided against central contracts yet the captain did...

Maybe the WRU was the only offer on the table we will never know all the ins and outs of these deals.

Bedford, I thought it was established that the Blues made him the best offer they could, but he (or Derwyn Jones) didn't think it was good enough.
You can't seriously be suggesting that the Blues didn't offer him a contract extension at all?

Sorry maybe shold have wrote that the WRU was the best offer on the table do we know what was offered did Toulon or the like come in with an offer etc etc.
I wonder if the Sc Williams or AWJs deals are better financially than that they would have got off the Union.

I'd guess that both Alun Wyn Jones and Scott Williams could have got more if they'd signed a central contract. But they chose to commit to their regions, and good on them.

Could they have though, thats the point we will never know the ins and outs. If the WRU had offered them more money they may well have taken it though in AWJs case he has stated that knowing what team he will be playing in next (even if not know what league) was a big part of his decision.

Re: Scott Williams re-signs for Scarlets
The WRU said they would only offer central contracts if the regions failed to re-sign these players. I don;t now whether to believe them to be honest. I don' know what to believe any more to be honest.
Either way i'm over the moon, if we could just re-sign Rhys now and sign a number eight then we will have a competitive team.
