George Galloway v Frank Warren Row Empty George Galloway v Frank Warren Row

Post by Strongback Fri 14 Feb 2014, 8:03 pm

George has been tweeting on behalf of Ricky Burns. Burns is aledging that Warren owes him £160,000 from a previous fight when the two were together.

George has a pop at Frank on Twitter and Frank responds with the type of letter he has now become well known for.

Have a read of the letter on Warren's website.

I'm surprised the papers haven't picked this up. They could make Galloway look like a complete idiot.

Not sure his meowing on big brother would win him britain's got talent.  Guess it depends if your judgement of  impressive in a politician is based on a blatantly cynical ability to tap into a vein of discontent to get elected, or whether you do something meaningful as a public servant once you've been elected.

One man's  impressive and talented is another's deranged and egomaniacal.  Suspect we're unlikely to agree on saddam's best mate truss!

You are very wrong..Whatever you think about his character and politics...

You have to be in awe of someone who is charismatic and talented enough to go into a constituency with no base that has voted Labour since the test of time and upset all the odds...

The guy is a special politician and you patronise the people of Bethnal and Bradford by saying they can't think for themselves...

You have no idea why they voted for Galloway...You just accept the narrative....

I couldn't do what Galloway has done twice and neither could you..

More respect (pardon the pun) is in order..

You're right on one thing truss I couldn't do what Galloway has. Nor would I ever want to.

I 'll patronise the electorate all I like thanks truss. Just because politicians will never suggest the electorate are gullible fools, it doesn't mean they don't think it and treat them like it.

I'll judge my politicians on what they do, not how they self publicise. But thanks for the advice bud!

Here's what some of his voter's think now.

Judge them on what they do.......Sure..

Like going into a constituency with no votes and getting 20,000 a time....

Not a single politician in Westminster would have the balls to do that..I wager !!

Supine , spineless bunch of yes men........

Guardian asked all 20,000. ??.............Read the Guardian you'd think Cameron was the anti-christ....

Guardian wants Labour to win in 2015...........Bradford is a target seat...

Maybe it's not just the people of Bradford that are gullible hey Mate..

But getting elected without a machine is very hard...

You were condescending towards Galloway.........You don't like him that's fine....

I however like both of you  raspberry ....and both of you can come to the Oyster anytime..........I have to go so fairplay...........

He's a great orator but that's as far as I'd go.

Winning Bethnal Green and Bradford was always a likely scenario for Galloway. He was hardly an obscure independent candidate and those two constituencies had large Muslim populations who would have always supported Galloway due to his pandering of them.

It wasn't likely he was a huge underdog in BB....Because he didn't have a machine...

He was 20-1 to win Bradford..........about fifth favorite.....Political betting didn't even mention him...

Labour had a Muslim candidate in Bradford..

Stop patronising Muslim/Asian voters......A lot of them I'm sure have their own minds..

Love sacks.

He won elections by going into Muslim heartlands and shamelessly pandering to their pathetic rhetoric.

He also has one of the worst, if not THE worst, attendance records at Parliament.

He's probably the least impressive politician I can think of.

Galloway is about the only person/public figure I can think of almost as repulsive as Bob Crow and who I'd equally like to bury a brick in his face.

How many times has he won where there hasn't been a Muslim majority electorate??

Can you answer that? It's pretty easy, even for you.

But, let's avoid fact because you always struggle with that, and let's stick to opinion:

You really aren't very knowledgeable, are you? George Galloways was MP for Glasgow Hillhead from 1987 to 2005, which does not have many Muslim voters in it. Just because you're as thick as two planks, it doesn't excuse you not doing a quick google search on George's electoral history.

I've met George Galloway in London once and found him to be a a thoroughly decent and pleasent chap.
