for me a couple of years ago when Sam Ricketts headed the ball into his own net vs Blackburn after a long ball by one of their players.

Colin Hawkins scoring a diving header own goal for no reason when there was no danger what so ever.

Lewis Dunk deciding to do keepie upies over the goal line at Liverpool.

Bas Savage going on an incredible run and stacking over before getting the shot away.

Frank Sinclair own goal has to be up there.

Simple back pass to keeper near edge of box from midway inside half, curls it round him into the corner like he was trying to finish it.

Nowhere near the worst, but the one that always sticks in my mind involves Steve Bruce missing what was essentially an own goal. Chips it over the bar (from memory) then does a little hop in disappointment.

For me. Mellberg throwing the ball back to Enkleman, trying to control it, only for the ball to go under his feet and into the goal.

What made it worse, was it was against the Blues away.

Should have been a corner, shouldn't it? If it didn't touch the keepers feet.

Yeah, remember the commentators saying it should have been a corner, but then again, think they were a bit confused.
Probably never seen that before.

Djimi Traore's own goal to knock 'Pool out of the FA Cup against Burnley.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RTi2sufzS4

That video also has what cannot be the same player scoring a wonder goal.

John Arne Riise's own goal against Chelsea in the CL was also horrible.

Dont blame it on Hamman,
dont blame it on Biscan,
don't blame it Finnan...

Blame it on Traore!

He just cant
He just cant
He just cant control his feet.

My vote goes to Enckleman, conceeding a goal from a defensive throw-in is as bad as it gets.

One I've seen in person - Essien against Southampton in December for their early goal https://youtu.be/bz4JGkCd-ho

One in general - Kanu and Ronaldo missing an open goal from a yard against Middlesbrough and Sheffield United https://youtu.be/zMcIomTLkXQ https://youtu.be/p21vtBp_pCM

One for Chelsea - Gudjohnsen smashing a shot across the six yard box at Anfield in the 2005 UCL semi

Can't remember who, but when there was only a CB on the line, he saved a shot by handballing it and proceeded to act as though he'd been shot in the chest. Hilarious.
