So yet again the rankings mean diddly squat! Well, below the top 3 at least!

Re: France drop two spots
Rankings are a bit misleading perhaps, look at the ratings that go with them.
The system had Wales as marginal favorites for the France game with the home weighting. Its correctly predicted the results of every game so far.
Fact is though the 6 nations big 4 can all beat each other "on their day"

The rankings reward consistency between IRB nations.
Georgia for instance have shown a distinct upward trend in their ranking over the past ten years and should be rewarded by being in div 2 of the NH 4Ns instead of being left to fester or die on the vine.

Wales have benefited by France beating England and England beating Australia.
The points have trickled down the chain.
If the matches had been played in a different order in the 6N - I.e. Wales played France before England then the standings would be different. This is why They're slightly broken.

I remember England losing to France in the World Cup quarters in 2011 shortly after they (France) had been beaten by Tonga in the group stage. That was a nastier points drop than it might have been!GloriousEmpire wrote:Wales have benefited by France beating England and England beating Australia.

I'm looking forward to hearing how useless and unimportant the rankings are once England slip down from fourth place.

Damn those 2 points. Anyway, Saint predicted a Wales win and an England win, so pretty spot on so far. Me and GE are king of the predictions.

Are you talking about yourself in the third person or is the a "Saint" who is not "The Saint"?
