England vs Italy, Time to tinker?
Hello people, just wondering what your thoughts were regarding the England team for the Italy match.
Obviously the wales game should be our absolutely strongest and settled team, and whilst it would be unwise to make a huge number of changes for the Italy game. How about some tinkering?
Firstly I'd say lets start Attwood, Launchberry has been playing out of his skin but lets see how Attwood and Lawes would do as a combo.
Secondly, We need to blood George Ford. He's earned it, I'd start him against Italy. Our pack should best them and his opposite number is only 22/23?
The wings are settling in nicely, and Mike Brown is simply undroppable at the moment. So the back three should stay as it is.
Centres... tricky. But If he's fit, should Manu start ahead of Burell?
Anyway, what do you guys think?
Tinker with the squad or as few changes as possible to allow the team to fully settle?

I'm guessing you don't mean our scrum tho.
Only tinkering I'd do is give Ford and Attwood a decent go. Maybe Kvesic? Everyone else need the practise.

Considering England usually lose their last match does it matter who's in or not?

We could be going to win the championship and lets be fair to Italy if we go there making lots of changes thinking it'll be a walk in the park...then well get our a$$es handed to us.
Maybe the odd one..like Attwood coming in...and possibly giving ford a run...then yes maybe...but not huge widespread changes.

Its jolly good to see the Welsh back on here, I was really afraid that many of them wouldn't return after their beating by the Irish

Hahaha, Personally I think the only changes I'd make is start Attwood and Ford.
If he's having a bit of a nightmare, then don't be afraid to haul him out of there after 30 minutes

Probably not much worse you could do to ruin a young players confidence. If we are going for the championship then play the first team. If we lose against Wales, play Ford and give him 80 mins

Tinker away... be a good time to do it, as Wales win next week will mean England's 6 Nations is all over anyway...

I think this quote will be saved ready to be re-posted...!!!
You boys must be pretty confident..??? Talking about winning championships with two games to go, one against a team you haven't beaten since before the last World Cup and the other, your last game, the one where even some of the greatest England sides couldn't deal with the pressure of winning the last match.
One game at a time boys, you haven't beaten Wales in twickenham in a long time.

Almost as long as Wales not beating one of the tri nation sides.

Since summer 2011, before the rugby World Cup. Since then England have lost to Wales home and away three times.
England have lost their first choice props, their best forward two centres and two wings.
Where is all this confidence coming from? You seem absolutely certain Wales do not stand a chance...?

We beat Argentina in November. You last beat us in August 2011.

Didn't realise Argentina counted as one of the tri nations in your eyes these days. I suppose you've got to lower the bar. Not sure what Argentina has got to do with things.
Wales have also lost to the mighty Japan. Before you say it's a 3rd string Welsh side etc. I would expect the English 3rd string to beat Japan.
You didn't just lose you got spanked 23-8, supposedly with the fly half who you think is one of the best in the NH and should have gone on the Lions tour.

Full strength against Italy if any chance of 6N. I can't see SL rotating and losing out on silverware.
If a decent lead at HT give Ford a run out, past that subs as normal.
If we lose to Wales I'd like to see a few changes against Italy.
