Stieglitz v Abraham III
I'm not surprised this has gone under the radar as it's not for any great title, but I'm looking forward to this as the previous two fights were highly entertaining. With Abraham nicking the decision first time out against a Stieglitz who looked wary and nervous early, and Stieglitz totally reversing it next time out by totally outgunning Arthur and being on him for every second of the fight, resulting in Abraham taking a brutal right hand to the eye which swelled immediately forcing the stoppage. Arthur looked out of ideas and bewildered by the speed and volume coming his way.
Given the comprehensive nature of the last fight, I think Robert takes it again, however Abraham will surely be better prepared for what's coming his way this time. Who's gonna watch? It will almost certainly be more exciting than Degale v anybody in any case!
I can see the winner facing Groves regardless of the Froch result.
Ordered my wenches to go hunting for the following week's meals, and the gentlemen have been locked in the cellar to fight, bare knuckle over priceless works of art, painted by scum bags and reprobates.

Again? I mean I love the combination, as the first two were pretty good - but is it necessary?

Well they're 1-1, both entertaining bouts and both fighters are names in Germany so why not?

Stieglitz is 4/11....
Maybe put a decent sized bet on him to win.
Stieglitz to KO Abraham is 15/8 on Paddypower...
Not gonna lie that looks quite intriguing...

don't know john, I'd like fighters to move on, sometimes, know what I mean? I don't demand a rematch if Nadal beats Djokovic in a particularly entertaining semi final, I look forward to the final. I'd like to see more fights with future ramifications

Don't see Stieg getting taken out to be honest. Abraham hasn't looked like much of a finisher in recent years.
I see what you mean king, but there are hardly any particularly mouthwatering fights out there for them so they may as well settle the score, plus there styles gel.

Reread, its for Stieglitz to take out Abraham.

Hoping Stieglitz wins, as I want to see Groves-Stieglitz in a unification later in the year.

Re: Stieglitz v Abraham III
Abraham was looking like a shot fighter his last couple of outings, lost his timing and rythm. So wouldn't be surprised if Steiglitz wins. Wouldn't have given him much chance a couple of years ago mind.
Abraham may have lost his confidence because of the freakish eye injury he sustained in the second Steiglitz fight. If he's put that behind him and if he can recapture his old form, then I'd still expect him to get the better of the exchanges and take it on points. Steiglitz can take some punishment as seen in their first fight, but just lacks a bit of pop.

No reason I suppose - Let's put it on the Groves/Froch bout... convince Marquez to have another dip at Pacquaio... and see how the inevitable Maidana-Khan rematch goes... all on the same night!!

Your missing the Carson Jones vs Kell Brook rematch as well.
That's a must after the first 2 pathetic encounters.

I watched this fight. Both guys were very, very average. Generally scrappy with the odd decent bit of action. Last round was good.

Maybe dig up Gatti and bring Ward out of retirement....
To be fair Gatti would prob go in as favourite

Re: Stieglitz v Abraham III
Apparently the purse for the fight was 3.5 million so no wonder they want to fight each other on a regular basis.

That would be an awesome card. No irony.

Re: Stieglitz v Abraham III
Fight showed what a weak champ RS is/was.
Some more classic German home-towning though, AA drops him and has him in all kinds of trouble and the ref somehow contrives to give RS about 20-25 seconds rest time from hitting the canvas to re-engaging.
After that I'm glad AA got the decision.

Re: Stieglitz v Abraham III
Yeah I get the feeling Abe upset the apple cart there, especially given that it was a split decision despite Abe having the better of the action for the most part and getting the knock down.
Worst bit of refereeing was Abe landing ONE rabbit punch while generally knocking a hurt Stieg around, then Stieg's corner bullying the ref into docking a point when he clearly wasn't going to. Also bought Stieg time to recover.

I bet Groves is kicking himself big time for not pursuing the Stieglitz fight when it was available, would have been an easy win and a world title to go with it.
