Great fight confirmed for Manchester next month. Who wins?

Too soon for Murray, would back him if he had time for another decent tune up in between, but without it I'm marginally favouring Crolla.

Crolla doesn't hit hard enough, if Murray can draw him in to war then Crolla could be in trouble. I agree with Toppy though, I'm not sure Murray will have the tank to work hard for 12 full rounds.

Slightly favouring Murray to win this, but should be a cracker.

Re: Crolla vs Murray 19/4
Interesting fight, I like it.
Going for Crolla, UD. Think Toppy and Hampo have touched on some key points; Murray's really just an obdurate brawler without that good a punch and Crolla has the speed and all-round skills to outbox him - but as they've said, he can get dragged in to a scrap, which favours Murray big time.
Crolla to edge it on points. Some hairy moments along the way.

I like Murray in this one. Great storylines as well. Going to try and get to it I reckon.

Should be a good fight but think Murray stops him late, probably behind on points at the time.

My only worry for Murray is facial damage. Crolla's jab is an accurate weapon and John swells up around the eyes terribly.
I think it could be the domestic fight of the year.

Re: Crolla vs Murray 19/4
I think Crolla is smart enough to beat the one dimensional Murray..........Murray is a straight line fighter and his eyes won't take too many jabs......
Murray has been a big let down for me.....Picked him to beat Mitchell and have a good career....
Crolla decision...........

I like Crolla, think he always talks sense. but i think this is a very hard fight for him. Crolla seems to always work very hard 3 minutes a round, from the start, and sometimes leaves himself a bit ragged in the second half of the fight. if Mathews can make him work hard, then im sure Murray will be even more exhausting for him. Think Muray will wear him down and stop him.

Close call. I prefer Murray though. I dont think Crolla has the pop or all round ability the get himself over the line in this. Murray to win it over the final 4 rounds.

Exceptional observation - you do wonder for these fighters that mark up easier than others if its a real detriment or if the judges take into account that the punches may not be as impactful based upon the fact the fighter can swell up easier, I had this discussion with a friend that black boxers get off quite easily in this respect as they don't bear the marks of a fight as easily as those with a lighter skin tone.

I'll go with Crolla. He just has too much quality and is guaranteed to land a lot of punches on Murray. UD Crolla.

Re: Crolla vs Murray 19/4
Great fight, depends on how Crolla can take Murrays pressure and if he can keep off
If he can stand up to murrays pressure he will stop murray as murrays eyes can't take 12 rounds. There will be a lot of shaky moments for crolla, and he can't go to war as he isn't strong enough
Personally I think murray will stop him late while down on points

Re: Crolla vs Murray 19/4
I watched the presser last night (got a bit of a boner about this one). Murray looks the bigger man and is talking up a knockout. Crolla looked a little cowed in his company (Murray was the c*ck of the gym back when they used to spar).
There was real animosity between Murray and Gallagher also.
Boners. C*cks. What's in this coffee this afternoon?

Re: Crolla vs Murray 19/4
Crolla is not even a legit Lightweight! How can Crolla still be considered a prospect?! One decent win against a shopworn Rees and the disputed draw against Derry. Alot of bigging up from Sky and Joe to be honest, the lad has been beaten by Gary Sykes twice FFS.
Murray walks this pretender down and stops him between 9-12. If Murray can block Rios punches with his face for 11 rounds. He will have no problem walking through Crolla.

Crolla doesn't like it up him, which is Murray's game.

Gallagher was always a mouth piece but he seems to have turned into a full blown knob head.

Have you seen Jcc v meldrick Taylor?!
I know where you're coming from, exception to every rule and all that.
On a related point. You don't seem to see so many cut stoppages these days... Don't know whether that's longer Gaps between fights allowing scar tissue to heal? Plastic surgery? Back in the day, compulsive bleeders like cooper and minter bolstered their loss columns with stacks of cuts stoppages.

You'd have seen one the other night If Crawford had a tiddler on his cheek..

Hoho. Taylor seemed to have two lumps on his face for every punch landed. If chavez had minter's skin he'd have been stopped in 30 seconds.
