Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao vs Ike "Bazooka" Quartey

Carrying on the theme, how about this matchup at the Welterweight? Let's say it's the Manny Pacquiao pre Clottey fight facing Quartey pre Oscar. Guaranteed fireworks, who've you got ?

Dear me, that's some fight isn't it? I'd suspect that Quartey would have too much firepower for Pacquiao (at welterweight), however, Pac's movement and workrate would trouble Quartey also.
 
I'll go for Quartey, busted up and bleeding, to cold-c0ck Pacquiao at the mid-point after an absolute humdinger.

Quartey to knock him out. Too big, too strong, too quick and had one helluva jab.. Not to mention a decent set of whiskers.

Stylistically all wrong for Manny who would have his successes but walks on to something big from a guy who doesn't get enough props for his ring smarts.

Not convinced Manny wins but don't subscribe to the thought that he loses by KO either. If Manny fighting at his buzzsaw best then it's hard to see him getting walked down and stopped and I think he's smart enough not to stand and trade but I would bet against him hitting the deck either.

Not sure Quartey is as smooth as Jmm but what he is....is a lot bigger...

and he has height and reach advantages

Can see him hurting Manny but will his workrate be as good..No but his work would be better most probably

Not sure either that Manny has the firepower to seriously trouble Quartey..

Hard to call....Quartey by split

Always considered myself a bit of a quartey fan, but see him as a bit one paced... With that pace being a slower one than manny's. Even as the smaller man, I like manny's chances in this one - can see the alternative take though.

Pretty much my initial thoughts. Against Vargas for example, Quartey showed a tendency to allow opponents to take over if they upped their pace. I see Manny taking a number of rounds off him and getting a close decision.

Can't see manny losing many round Ike isn't that elusive so would need the knockout so would say a wide PTs win for manny or a ok loss
