What positions are you looking for - will PM a list of best young players I have if you want?

Re: Harlequins
Really similar tactics there! You've got some very good youngsters there - George Lowe is a top player, is he injured at the moment? What do you think of Matt Hopper - he seems to have invented a new pass - apparently its called the reverse pirate pass - all over rugbydump at the moment! Seems very attacking, but maybe not as good defensively as Lowe?

I'm waiting to see what the new rules are before doing any bigger deals with more players involved.
Thought Stevens and Mujati could be a fair deal as English and plays both sides.

No worries mate - I'm jinxed with props anyway, so am sure that if I did get him he'd get dropped for PDJ straight away at Saints and Stevens would excel at Sarries! CAn never get my front row sorted - didnt expect Webber to go during the 6Nations either!

Re: Harlequins
Think hes protected under the new academy rules so im safe for a while. Have to have a proper look at it and see what I can do with it. Cheers though
Sale academy is really stepping up with talent the last few years. Like the look of young Jennings dual registered at Leeds and Tommy Bell. What a boot!

Re: Harlequins
Should have been clearer there - I do think it is difficult for players coming from international games during the 6Nations to get right back into their squads, think I only opted to play Halfpenny there at 15, alongside Ashton who don;t really need to do anything differently - just in key positions its a bit more difficult, which is why I left Phillips on the bench.
Think the Priestland/Contepomi axis would work brilliantly.
Your are going to have a cracking squad when everyone develops - I think between our two youth squads we could almost make a future England team there! Who do you think will be best of your youngsters?

Re: Harlequins
That is some academy!
I am hoping that quite a few of mine get caps - expect Gill and Cane to get a fair amount of gametime in the s15 this year and both are future stars.
For England I think Ford will be the flyhalf by 2015 WC - also expect Thomas, Launchbury, Daly to become stars - never sure about Wade, he will either be one of the best attacking wingers going or is too small. Like the look of Haywood at Saints and have always thought Jamie Elliot could become a top player, he's only just turned 19 I think.
A lot of my other academy players could go either way - not sure if Nutley has the brains to be a top player but guys like Vunipola brothers, Danny Herriot have all got a chance of being very good.
I am just screwed when they all hit 23 as would have to get rid of a lot of my other players to keep them!

Re: Harlequins
Sale are going to have a serious team next season - do you think you will end up getting Cipriani? Sounds like he's on cracking form for Rebels in pre-season, playing alongside O'Connor could be the making of him. Would be a very good signing, kind of hoping he will re-sign for Wasps, but that will only happen if one of the Arab owners who are bidding for us win the battle for the club!
From sounds of one of the bidders, Wasps could become one of the richest clubs in Europe if it comes off!

Re: Harlequins
Sorry mate, no interest in Steeno, would be 5th choice outside half for me. If you are after an English winger I could get Short or Cueto involved in something, but it would have to involve one of Wallace, Gibson or Joseph.
Maybe
Short + cash for one of them (preferably Wallace)
or a straight swap Cueto for one of them (again preferably Wallace)

Re: Harlequins
See West got the better of Chester this weekend , surprised by that was by all accounts a cracking game of rugby which was overshadowed by a unfortunate event almost immediately as the whistle had went.

Re: Harlequins
Fair enough. I disagree on the former international thing, it's not like he is on his last legs. Odds are that he will become the Premierships all time top try scorer this season and not playing international rugby is likely to extend his career for at least another couple of years. English and available all year is hardly going to weaken your prospects.
