Welcome to Season 6 of the Aviva Premiership fantasy rugby game. Below are the rules of the game which must be adhered to. If there are any situations that arise in the course of the game which are not covered by the rules, a final decision will be made by the RFU (SJE) as to how the situation will be resolved.
Senior Squads wrote:
The maximum squad size is 40 senior players. If a team has more than 40 players in their squad then they will be fined £1 million per player over the permitted amounts per day for the first seven days. If after 7 consecutive days a team still has more than the permitted number of players then the team will be fined £2 million per player per day, and fined 1 league point per player per day for the next seven days. If after this time a team still has more than the permitted number of players in their squad, the RFU (me) will remove players at its discretion to bring them back under the permitted numbers. There will be no right of appeal to players being removed.
Be aware that all tier one international matches which are played during the season will count in the game, and players selected in the match day 23's for those matches will not be eligible to play for their clubs on that weekend, therefore you must give due consideration to the make-up of your squad.
Academy Rules wrote:
Each team will be allowed to have an academy squad of 20 players. Players who are in the academy must be born on or after 1st September 1991.
Any player, who is at any Premiership club in real life, either in their senior, academy or AASE squads, can be bid for on the domestic bidding page. Players who are at your own club in real life and are coming through the academy system must be bid for if you want them in your own academy.
Transfers wrote:
- Domestic (other AP Teams)
Each team has a budget to use in the purchase of players. Domestic transfers between AP clubs, regardless of nationality of player, should be negotiated between the respective managers, and then confirmed on the Domestic Transfer Confirmation Page.- Domestic (Championship and below)
Each team may during the season purchase no more than 5 players from the Championship or the National Leagues. These players must be bid for on the Domestic Transfer Bidding page, and each bid will be considered by me on its own merits before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.- Foreign
To make a foreign transfer (i.e. from any club outside of the AP, regardless of whether the player is English) a bid should be made on the Foreign Transfers Page, which will be considered by me against the posted guidelines for purchase prices before being accepted or rejected. No bid will be accepted until a minimum of 24 hours has elapsed from the time the bid was made, in order to afford other managers the opportunity to make a counter bid.
There will be a summer foreign transfer window, which will run as follows.
Structured Window
No cash will be used and each team will get effectively free transfers by way of a draft, which will run 12th, 11th, 10th …… 1st, 12th, 11th,10th… 1st place side. This will run from 10th June 2013 until all teams have had their two picks.
Open Window
Open transfer window, teams have unlimited bids provided they have the financial resources to cover them. Teams may only bid for one player at a time.
Player Releases wrote:
Managers may choose to release players from their clubs, for which they will be offered compensation
Compensation will be paid as follows
£2 million – current international (must have played international rugby in the previous 12 months)
£1.5 million – former international
£1m – top flight experience
£0.5m – other
All released players will be deemed to have joined a Championship side and can be bid for on the Domestic Transfer Bidding page.
Retirements wrote:
There will be no compensation for retiring players. Should a player who retires decide to come out of retirement and play again, then he will automatically go back to the club who he was playing for in the game when he retired.
Fixtures wrote:
There will be 22 Aviva Premiership games per season, plus the play offs. There will also be Heineken Cup, Amlin Challenge Cup and Anglo Welsh Cup matches. These games will take place once a week. A match thread will be put up every Monday. Home teams must be named by midnight on Tuesday. Away teams must be named by midnight on Wednesday. Both teams must provide tactics by midnight on Thursday. Predictions will be open from 00:01 hours on Friday and remain open until 20:00 hours on Saturday. Managers will post the scores that they think will happen from these games (apart from games in which they are involved). An average of all predictions will be taken, and then 0.5 points added to each teams score for each prediction that had them as the winner, and that will then be the final score.
Managers are asked to provide detail as to why they have predicted a result. To be considered a descriptive prediction this must be a full 3 lines long when entered into the text box. If you are not providing a descriptive prediction you will be restricted to predicting a 1 point win either way.
Teams wrote:
When naming your team, not only should you put the starting XV and replacements, but also tactics that your team will employ. Results will be affected by the tactics described.
In addition, each team must have the following:-
At least 10 England qualified players in your match day 23, and at least 4 of those must be in your starting XV.
At least 2 props and 1 hooker on the bench.
All players must be eligible (not injured or banned).
Failure to comply with these rules will result in forfeiting the match and a 1 league point deduction.
If you fail to submit a team for a match, then the other team will be automatically awarded a 30-0 bonus point win. If both teams fail to submit a team, then it will be scored as a 0-0 draw.
Injuries and Suspensions wrote:
Injuries in this game do NOT reflect real life, they will be generated by me.
Players banned in real life will be ineligible for selection in this game for the duration of the ban.
Inclusion of injured/banned players will result in them being replaced by players on the bench, and the bench not having eight players, which may result in punishment if it concerns the front-row.
Punishment for fielding an ineligible player will be loss of one match point for a first offence, two for a second offence and so on.
Financial Rewards wrote:
There will be no rewards for the result of an individual match, instead the managers will receive cash for predicting.
£2m for descriptive predictions
£0.25m for scores on the doors predictions
If you fail to predict without first advising me that you are unable to do so that week, you will be fined £1m for a first offence, £2m for a second offence, £3m for a third offence etc.

I believe so as much as it pains me. Think we need to be in the game at 50 minutes to have a chance of doing anything so think we need to be tight and take the crowd and momentum away from

Re: Season 6 Homepage IV
Reckon it will be a Sarries / Saints final.
Seen a few pundits saying that if that happens they'd expect a backline of
9. Care
10. Ford
11. May
12. Eastmond
13. Tuilagi
14. Yarde
15. Brown
I'm really not sure about Eastmond, he seems like he has the attitude of a footballer, amazed he hasn't been picked up for swearing at the ref when he was binned against Wasps. Was far worse than Hartley's last year.

Alesana will be a great addition, especially with Sinoti (who's a real find) on the other. Both have signed for 2 years.
Not so sure about Andy, he's a huge carrier but is a bit like Fitzy in he likes to drop the ball. We'll certainly have some line breakers in the backs next season.

I think Andy is a bit more experienced and will help bring through the other centre, whether that is Barnes or Powell.
Just need a better back up to Blair and Hodgson and some nasty old forwards, Hamilton perhaps? Even Charteris possibly, might be an idea to raid Perpignan for some of their lads.

Powell is the same age as Andy I think.
Does signing Andy mean Socino is our new 10?? We'll be able to put a seriously heavy weight backline (although maybe not that great??)
9. Blair
10. Socino
11. Sinoti
12. Tuilagi
13. Powell
14. Tuilagi
15. Tait

Just to prove I haven't made this stuff up Chris......from a Wasps fan on main board.
As a Wasps fan, Daly has landed some monster penalties over the last 2 seasons. But he has had some really poor moments in defence and kicking from hand.

Re: Season 6 Homepage IV
Pooly the thing is with Daly is that he plays at 13, which for me is the hardest position to defend by some distance, Wasps have a slow 10/12 channel (Goode/Bell) and teams go to expose that and it puts whoever plays at 13 for us in trouble. Daly has got very good technique and makes his tackles.
Again been our best back this year and been a noticeable improvement when he's played at 13, the tries he has set up recently against Bath and Falcons I doubt there is another 13 in England, possibly Europe who can make those breaks and runs. Top talent, deserves to go on the England tour.
Only issue with his kicking is that he can kick it too far and always goes for distance, so sometimes it doesn't go right and puts it out on the full. Needs to work on that.

Hopefully he'll get a run at 13 and improve. We're looking ok there at the minute with Tuilagi and Burrell fantastic options.

Re: Season 6 Homepage IV
He's Wasps first choice 13, only plays 15 when we've got injuries - having him partnering Leuia next season could be a fantastic partnership.
Can see either Tuilagi or Burrell being moved to 12 for England, only trouble then is you'd probably have to get a flyhalf with a better passing game than Farrell's to get the best out of them.

Re: Season 6 Homepage IV
Farrell is getting better slowly, he's first choice by a distance I'd imagine.
Give Daly another season and he might sort his defence out, I'm on the fence at the minute as he just lacks the physicality for Int rugby imo. A summer off for bulking up would do him no harm at all.

Anyone get there World Cup ticket log on today ?
If with a club you get a individual account per person applying.
We have 82 tickets for England games.
Prices obscene
£3000 for 4 final tickets in good seats.
Cheapest ticket for group game with England at twickenham is 85

I have booked 4 cat c tickets for every England pool game and both semi finals
And bought 4 cat a for final.
Approx 6000 quid which is wrong.
Obviously I
Am only paying a quarter of that as I am having 1 out of each 4 tickets but my point is how will rugby grow when tickets are so exclusive?
They should be general issue even though I would hate missing out

Catching up on today's s15. Barrett has become the real deal. Next to carter he is best 10 in nz. His game keeps
Developing. Defence has improved and has more about him than cruden. Bet he will be ahead of him after June tests barring injury . Super impressed

Tuipolutu is a star in making hence why I bid for him
Against you. Hall decent but against smith Perenara and Barlow I think he may not make it. Only last year Gibson park was seen as the solution.
For
Me smith far ahead then Perenara after that wide open

Carter obviously number one. As will greenwood said " he is the only all black ever to be given 2 sabbaticals which shows how important he is to NZ and their hopes of winning the World Cup in England"

It's similar to saying mccaw was not nz' best 7 when he was on sabbatical. Minute he came back he was straight in the side as carter will be

These "most pundits" are right buggers.
Cruden has been fantastic this season, you only need to look at how much Chiefs have dropped to see his importance. Cruden is the best FH in NZ by quite a distance, then Barrett.
Even last season Carter was on the downward, that was before his time off.
As you always say Matt, you never know how he'll come back with so much time out. Carter has a lot to prove imo, he's not getting any younger and Cruden has been the best FH in S15 for 3 years now. Really like Barrett tho.

Only been out 6 months and not due to a bad injury. Apparently is training like a beast at the moment.
Think giving some of our key players time off would work well

As I always say Cruden has never shone at international level and still has the same faults he had years ago. His game management has improved a bit to be fair.
Barret has looked much better at international level. Looks a natural there and also has improved on all his faults.
Never will be a fan of cruden. Can't play int level well with his kicking out of hand.
He will be 3 rd choice come World Cup. Give me Farrell or wilko over him any day.

We shall see I guess. He wasn't in great form last time he played so it'll be interesting when he finally comes back.

"Cruden has never shone at Int level"
Will have to disagree on this, he's not even my player and I think your so far off the mark it's not worth debating.

Cruden was the best FH in the world in 2013 by quite a distance for me. Be interesting to see what 2014 has in store for him.

What has he done at international level luke ???
Yet to see him have a series of good games at int level. Had some stinking games and his kicking from tee was 60% last year which is poor

Totally agree Luke, he was magic in every jersey he wore. Fantastic player, can't believe Pete signed him and not me!

His 20min stint against Ireland is one of best FH displays I've ever seen. I'd maybe throw Cooper against Wales up there too.

4N last year - performance against OZ - didn't he get 25 points or so? Top player for me.

No it when Cruden ripped them to shreds. Fantastic player, I'd def take him over Carter.
