Which is the better team?
England or Ireland - who is the better team?
First topic message reminder :
Both team had key injuries to top class players so that isnt a factor.
Both teams were involved in the Lions tour so fatigue doesnt figure.
Despite the media's obsession with age the majority of Ireland's best players are all quite young.
England are ranked 4th and Ireland 5th and they beat Ireland by 3 points in Twickers but Ireland won the championship.
Not next year, not last year, right now the question is who is the best team?

It is right that its called the British and Irish lions now and perhaps it should have changed earlier but at the time of creation and for a long while after, the name was suitable.
Yeah they were rebranded as the B&I Lions in 2001 at the behest of Keith Wood and Donal Lenihan.
Thank god they ditched that better together anthem they used in 05 through.
The power of four? Which version tho, Frankie, Jennifer rush or Huey Lewis? Tough choices....

Things change, and the name 'British Lions' should have changed a long, long time before it did. It's a good thing for Irish Rugby, on the whole, but it needs to be recognised as an equal partnership between the two nations and four countries.

Equal as in the Irish get half despite being 3/4 of one of 4 Unions?
Or equal as in the English just tell everyone what to do?
Or equal as in one token Scott except hes ruined his reputation by getting a silly red card?

Most people just call it the 'Lions Tour' anyway, so why can't we just drop the B&I stuff all together?

I thought we already concluded from this thread that we are not equal, we are better than you. That's just the English. Combine the Welsh and the Scots with the English......
England could have the two English born Welsh wingers in the starting XV...... Rest of the "Welsh" would be the cheerleaders led by Sam Warburton of course with the Scots as the water boys/carriers of the bags.

Hes not Welsh, hes British...and since he captained the last lot it was quite correct to call it the British Lions.
Back on topic anyway yes the English are more better. Especially Tuilagi and the Vunipolas

I think Sam Warburton would be too busy in his new specialised role testing medical facilities.

How long are Wales going to be without 1/2p and Warburton?
Massive losses there.

But it represented the United Kingdoms of Britain and Ireland, not just Britain...so should be called the united Kingdoms Lions to avoid upsetting the Irish.
No we are happy enough just to have more Irish Lions than English ones on the last couple of tours.
Cyril, you are like a less interesting version of Saint

Its not as good as the Steve Walsh mirror one.
I met Ken Dodd this week, he was getting a lifetime achievement award. Like BOD his materials really not what it was but people will always remember him fondly.

Re: England or Ireland - who is the better team?
England. Slightly. The difference in the championship was a 10 point swing which they would have had if their halfbacks could spot an overlap and take control of the situation 5 metres from the Irish line so I'd say overall - England.
(still voted Ireland though )
