Some serious defence in this game, but then neither team are very creative in attack.

Crusaders attacking game has surprised me. When they go direct they have had some gainline success, but at times they are just to lateral and have gone nowhere.

Great counter attacking try for the Stormers. loose kick from the Crusaders but a fantastic line picked by de Villiers off Burger.

I don't have a favourite team mate, since pro rugby began and player movement increased to the extent where players no longer represent their hometown I just support the Springboks now.
I don't feel I can identify with any team any more.
Hence my belief that at least the Springbok team must remain pure.

that's the spirit Biltong, S.A. above all else... as for me, not sure I'd take a RC win over the Lions not finishing in another relegation playoff

Re: 2015 Super Rugby Season
Well Bulls too good for the Blues, the Blues stuttering all match, the Bulls way more presence around the field. Scrums and lineouts didnt look too bad but I'll have to watch the first half again. Blues a bit lucky to get that chip through try with two of them falling around it after a nice chip through. Obviously that ones in the arsenal for the year...weepu doing the same last week.
Serfonteyn looked good as well, he must be forcing his way into higher honours regular spoy by now...

Yes, the Bulls defence concentrated on their job and starved the Blues all day, with the little ball that the Blues did get they squandered.
On another note a number of those young Blues players had not played at altitude before and they will learn from the experience. still no Benji.

Re: 2015 Super Rugby Season
Bit of a worry when we only have the Chiefs that look remotely like finalists and even they arent overly convincing. The Oz sides are stronger it seems than last year and SA look stable if not world beating at the moment. Tough little comp this with some sides doing complete reversals from the previous week- the Force for example....where did that come from? and the Reds...

Re: 2015 Super Rugby Season
I didn't watch the Bulls-Blues match: were the Bulls an improved team compared to their opening couple of games, or were the Blues playing badly? Because that wasn't the result I would have predicted!

RE: Sharks Lions Match (37 -23 to the Sharks)
1.Well done to Frans Steyn for stepping in at the last moment to play fly-half, not a bad effort: and boy does t feel nice to have a kicker who can consistently kick penalties from our own half!
2. The Lions were a different team when Boshoff replaced Jantjies at Flyhalf. Jaintjies looked like a deer in the headlights most of the time (I would too, mind you, if I was opposite Steyn)
3. The Sharks' replacemtne props are a couple of levels below the Beast and Jannie.
4. Jannie can't speak English, so don't interview him!

Great work Breaker - can you update each week? I have added the final scores and links to the video highlights and I'll watch them all later when I'm doing the night feeds for our newborn.
Putting 38 points on that Blues side is pretty impressive.

Re: 2015 Super Rugby Season
Nope, we actually bought another plot, after close inspection there was too much work to be done, so we bought one without any improvements on it.
We are moving out of our current place end of April, then into an apartment close to my sons' school whilst building a two bedroom unit and garage to move in as soon as possible.
Then once we have built the house we will likely rent the chalet out.
Long way to go.

Thorntrees.... are they good for the deer or bokke (what animals are you getting again?)

They're Aussie in origin. They were brought over initially to supply mines with timber. They've kinda spread from there. And they're not much good for the local fauna. They're considered an alien invasive species!

Ah well it was too good to last... Falling sharp from those heady days when we managed to win game without scoring tries... Back to the soft porn days (silky touches, skillful angle manipulation, no penetration) for my Lions.

Haven't seen anyone start a thread on this round. Since I am awake at 3:00am (again) I put on the first match, Chiefs-Stormers, and thought I should get this going. Imported the weekend schedule from ESPNScrum, and I hope the links to their coverage of each match should work.

Re: 2015 Super Rugby Season
Chiefs are dominating the Stormers in a way I haven't seen in a long time. Looks like men against boys. Though I think one of their tries was a bad call by the referee. Regardless, as the second half gets going, Stormers are virtually out of it already.
One observation was at halftime. Hika Elliot was being interviewed and I realised many Rugby players do not know how to dress. Pink plaid with a blue solid tie? Really? My mother would be horrified.

Watching game doc as chiefs are my team. Was gonna mention the chiefs are playing well and are being quite adventurous but also quite solid. Did you see the first chiefs try, the back heel of the ball forward and regather by Tom Marshall? That, was something different!

Re: 2015 Super Rugby Season
Ah, the usual Doctor Grey prediction gone wrong. Score was 17-6 to the Chiefs at halftime, and the play was all Chiefs, Stormers dead as roadkill. Chiefs score right off in the second half and the presumed rout is on. Five minutes left in the match and score is 24-20. I really know nothing about our sport.
