Re: Gloucester
cheers mate, I'm thinking along the same lines then.
i think I am risking having Ford, Cips and Giteau as my 10 options, also think that Tyler Bleyendaal will come good (I hope!).
Can you suggest anyone as a carrying no8 - Messam for me has come on a lot in the last 6months, but I am very tempted with the new SA signing that Saints have made from the Bulls, as they always pick players and then they come on very, very well.

Re: Gloucester
That Chris Masoe? Had been tempted with him, annoyingly I only have £8m to spend now! Had to get my front five sorted first, prob didn't need mulipola because of henry Thomas - should have got an 8!

Re: Gloucester
Wouldnt be able to take him on loan due to squad sizes mate, could I tempt you with a swap for Lapandry? I seem to have 7's coming out of my ears at the moment!

Re: Gloucester
I'm happy with that mate, I really like Lapandy, but with your tip on Cane I dont think I can have Cane, Gill, Salvi and Lapandy.
I will put the deal up on confirms. Should do good for us both there!

Re: Gloucester
See Toulon are set to try and tempt Adriaan Strauss with a big money offer. Reckon that will be a good move for him?
Boks have so many good hookers its unfair on other countries.
BDP , Fourie , Lindenberg , Strauss , Brits and Strauss. All of them to choose from , Meyer must lose sleep over it.

Re: Gloucester
I'm not sure mate.
I way toying with lineups today, think I might just try a few combo's out rather than go with 4N side as it pretty much picks itself.

Sorry mate, big fan of Fa'asivalu, but couldn't do a deal were I get 2 for 1 as couldn't squeeze an extra player into the squad, and have no interest in Payne or losing Mullan.

Re: Gloucester
You will have a chance to beta any deal for Marler, just like Pete has the chance to beat any deal for Gibson as I think the RFU would kick me out the league if I didn't give Pete a chance to get Gibson!

Re: Gloucester
I am in a similar situation up front.
If for any reason Crockett, B. Franks and Tony Woodcock were all in the NZ squad and Marler with Eng then I would be with Afoa and Brookes as props will Sinckler, Collier and Furlong as back up.
Been surprised no one has gone for Dean Greyling this summer. I thought he'd be snapped up sharpish.

Re: Gloucester
That has been public since April, I posted it on main page.
He's aiming for full comeback in next S15, I presumed you knew this but could take the hit with Ferris fit.
No probs anyway, happy to keep hold

Yea you could be right, I'd be very surprised if he didn't come back. He was involved in SA training sessions I think, he's just took a season out to get fully sorted.

Re: Gloucester
Alright Matt, how about:
5 EQ
5 SH
5 NH
Bench open to anything
I'm only looking to try a few new combo's so could easily work round this if you fancied it?

Re: Gloucester
Cheers for the feedback, I'm trying to work out my strongest team at the moment and sort out the issues at the lineout in particular. Out of my squad what would you have as the locks.
And a backthree in wet conditions I would play Ashton, Halfpenny and Foden at fb. Would you consider that stronger?
Re the guile part - playing Fofana sort that? Also tempted with Giteau at 12.
- lack of guile in midfield
- back 3 defence in wet conditions may struggle a bit. Very susceptible to cross kick
- lack of lineout

Re: Gloucester
Anychance you fancy a similar set up to Prop's and SJE's next week for our game?
ie Academy except for 5 overage players in the starting lineout with a mix of each on the bench?

Yeah no problem to take Daly on loan. Who was the youngster you had play in the 7s the other night, Ian Clark or someone? Looks another great talent through the Gloucester academy!

Re: Gloucester
Dont know where Gloucester get all of these backs from - think May will be one of the stars of the AP this season - would love a backline for England of May, Ashton and Foden - each different and May could be a great spark for us.
Wonder why forwards dont come through at Gloucester though?

Re: Gloucester
Might have to take you up on the offer of a hooker there! I'm ok until the AIs as am sure Hartley and Webber will be the England hookers - I've got Matu Matu'u who could become very good, but he's more open play than setpiece at the moment.
I really like the look of Morris though, think he's scored 6 tries in 10 games for Tigers in the AP and looks very similar to Geordan Murphy in style. Hopefully he could come on strong next season!
