Boxnation signs deal with Top Rank
BoxNation has agreed an exclusive output deal with leading boxing promoters Top Rank which will see the channel continue to air the world’s best fights.
‘The Channel of Champions’ is living up to its name after reaching an agreement with the American promoters to show all events which are available to the UK, live and exclusive on the undisputed home of big time boxing.
The agreement will start next month when BoxNation airs Mexican superstar Juan Manuel Marquez’s battle with the skilled Mike Alvarado on May 17th, before Filipino hotshot Nonito Donaire moves up to featherweight to challenge Simpiwe Vetyeka for his WBA Super world title on May 31st.
The deal with Top Rank will ensure that BoxNation continuously delivers the biggest and best bouts, and comes hot on the heels after the channel secured the two biggest draws in boxing in Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather.
BoxNation has a jam-packed schedule over the coming weeks, starting with Carl Frampton’s bout against Hugo Cazares tonight, before Pacquiao takes on Tim Bradley next weekend, with Mayweather’s monster May 3rd card against Marcos Maidana the jewel in the crown.
Further top names on the channel include IBF world champion Bernard Hopkins as he looks to unify the light-heavyweight division against WBA Super title holder Beibut Shumenov on April 19th, Amir Khan against Luis Collazo on the Mayweather bill and knockout king Adonis Stevenson defending his WBC light-heavyweight belt against Andrzej Fonfara on May 24th.
Plus, in other exciting news for BoxNation viewers, the channel has secured the rights to the WBC heavyweight world title eliminator between Chris Arreola and Bermane Stiverne on May 10th.
The pair do battle at the Galen Center in Los Angeles, to see who will the man be to take on the hammer-fisted, brash-talking, all-American sensation that is Deontay Wilder.
With the prize a shot at Vitali Klitschko’s recently vacated WBC crown, both Arreola and Stiverne will be ready to leave it all in the ring, with BoxNation being the only place to see how the heavyweight tale unfolds over the coming months.
With Tyson Fury taking on Dereck Chisora on July 26th, on boxing’s number one pound-for-pound channel, BoxNation is the home of the heavyweights, with only one set to emerge as the rightful heir to the Klitschko throne.
To subscribe to BoxNation for only £12 a month (plus a one-off registration fee) please visit www.boxnation.com.

Christmas come early, both Golden Boy and Top Rank on the same channel, seems Sky are left in the cold though...

Great stuff really when you consider if you were in the states you'd have to subscribe to show time and hbo, not to mention paying ppv fees on top.
My hate for warren has warmed to dislike immensely.

What does Sky Sports cost in the UK is it something like £50 a month?

More like about £20 a month which is pretty good value when you get four channels with a variety of sport, makes a mockery of Boxnations £15 a month really.

There's no suppose about it, four sports channels showing a variety of sport is far better value for money.

Not if the sport you like barely gets shown though, if you only have Sky for boxing then the Boxnation monthly fee is better than paying for Sky Sports.

Being a Liverpool fan you know that's a load of garbage, people don't buy Sky Sports primarily for boxing.

I know a few that do, hate football with a passion and they buy it for boxing and cricket both of which are vastly under shown.

Cricket is hardly under shown on Sky, every single England game is shown as well as a lot of limited overs, international and twenty20.

They show very little domestic cricket outside of the rubbish that has become T20, compared to other sports it is under shown. If you're a fan of the domestic you'll see your team on Sky maybe 4 times a season.
As I said, it depends what sports you want to watch. But you're just arguing for the sake of arguing.

I didn't realise Sky was cheap in the UK. In Ireland Sky Digital with the sports pack cost around €90 or £75 a month.

Re: Boxnation signs deal with Top Rank
It's £22, on top of your £21 a month though Strongy so you're paying double your normal subscription for the sports. That's without HD as well.

It's an extra £5 for HD but an all inclusive Internet, TV and Phoneline deal works out far cheaper plus you would get BT sport for free.hampo171 wrote:It's £22, on top of your £21 a month though Strongy so you're paying double your normal subscription for the sports. That's without HD as well.

I'm really not, you're arguing because you have to Hampo, Boxnation is an awfully produced channel with very little quality domestic boxing shown, for the majority the American fights are pointless because of the timing.hampo171 wrote:They show very little domestic cricket outside of the rubbish that has become T20, compared to other sports it is under shown. Because you're a Warren and Hearn nutt hugger.... Haven't heard that phrase in a while so just throwing it out there lol
Re: Boxnation signs deal with Top Rank
I can't stand listening to the commentary on BoxNation, I have to watch it straight from HBO or Showtime.

No, they most certainly do not.
Showtime and HBO don't give out the rights to use there commentary team just the feed to the fights.

I'm pretty disappointed with this personally. As I already shell out enough for sky, I'm not going to pay an additional £15 just for a boxing channel. Always the internet, I suppose

Sky aren't going to really buy much of the internationals due to how much they have to pay in comparison to the numbers that watch them. Even if Pacquaio fights they don't do the greatest numbers due to the time.

Re: Boxnation signs deal with Top Rank
Shame. I suppose boxing is still a fringe sport in certain respects. Groves and Froch sold out Wembley for the right to be called the no.2 man in the division but when Ward defends his title nobody tunes in (as one example)

Sky though have/had the capacity to get a monopoly on Boxing by bidding for the overseas stuff..Can't have escaped their notice Boxnation has lost all it's fighters and survival is dependent on the stuff..
Sky mustn't think Boxing is worth it !

I just checked an Box Nation and the subscriptions are:
*BoxNation subscription is £12/€15 per month plus £8/€10 registration fee for Sky TV and new livesport.tv customers. £10 per month with no registration fee for Virgin Media customers. No minimum term. Terms & conditions apply.
£10 a month on Virgin is a good deal given the septics pay $50-70 for every PPV event.

Re: Boxnation signs deal with Top Rank
I pay £12 for BN to get the HD. Worth it for the international cards.
It's a pretty simple concept really, you have SS for domestic fighters and BN for the international stuff.
BN is a pretty crud channel with awful quality output, but it's range of international fights is fantastic. Sky get's you pretty much all the top domestic talent plus I like it for the rugby, R7s, cricket, football and F1 - which are the only sports I've any interest in watching pretty much. Other than the Ryder Cup.
