England still "one dimensional" - All Blacks
The English loose forwards are "one-dimensional" and will resort to using foreign born players such as Vunipola from the back of the scrum in attempts to drag the All Blacks into "dark places" to bridge the skill gap, the All Blacks web site says.
The press release also claims the superior ball handling skills of the All Blacks back row and locks will prevail.
The article is also critical of England's progress in developing an "intelligent" back line and claims England will rely heavily on "sledge hammer" tactics up front.

Hmmm, the way I read that particular sentence referred in the headline is McCaw and Read MIGHT show the England backrow to be one dimensional.

Are Cole and Corbs going to be back then? Last thing I heard was they weren't. Launchbury doesn't call the lineout Lawes does. The bit about a sledge hammer pack is a little out of date as well. Bit of a poor article.

England look great 'thanks to the depth England is developing' - NZ worried?
NZ fear 'plenty of nous at the rear of the park.'
England will cause 'issues for the All Blacks.'
Fun this isn't it?

Build them up, knock them down.
The NZRU has to drum up interest in the series by portraying England as worthy adversaries.

Are the NZ public that fickle? Fair enough.

yeah we probably are...people will be sorting out which tests to go to at the moment. There will be many expats supporting England, I dont know how many are touring to follow the team but the biggest interest has already been generated by England still being the latest to beat the ABs, and, could be the only side that beats them this year- big statement but with 3 tests and based on the last two seasons results, a possibility. (though Biltong might disagree on that one...at least I would hope so)

Us English get so defensive when other countries criticise us for what our media says. its not representive of us...this is surely the same.
I havent read it but surely this is just another poor journalist trying to wind it up and has no reflection of how the general NZ public or the rugby players actually think.
Sorry that was ignoring GE's continuous attempts to wind up the poms....

Can't say I thought the article was that antagonistic. It reads well enough for such a zealous readership.
It is unfortunately riddled with inaccuracies which is a shame but well researched comment seems less and less prolific these days, as the OP demonstrates.

Re: England still "one dimensional" - All Blacks
England are good enough to win 1 test but only with their first XV in place and with the 1st test a beyond everest task with say at best 5 players missing the momentum could prove too much. The first test would always be the best chance for them, catch the ABs cold.
SA should beat them at home this year. Although the scheduling doesn't help....
SA will play NZ at home in the last test of the season again. That means in all probability NZ will be in the driving seat.
Say both teams beat ARG & AUS home and away. Well NZ are likely to beat SA at home too so they will go into the match a minimum 4 points ahead. That means SA will have to chase the match. Had it been the other way around it would be another story.
Due to that I actually agree with Taylorman, if anyone is to beat NZ this year, its probably England.

England are still very much rugby by the numbers. Low risk stuff. As are Ireland. But both are a work in progress and might get better. A solid team that's very hard to beat is the first phase in building a great team.

Re: England still "one dimensional" - All Blacks
Judging by Super Rugby form Nz`s top players many not performing or injured nothing
can be taken for granted.
Always the First Test is the one to win for a visiting team,BUT the last team to do it
was France 2009.
Given that in 2010,2012,and 2013 Rugby Champions NZ were 6-0 and were unbeaten
last year.
It is unrealistic to expect that level of excellence to be sustained in definitely certainly
SA were very close last year.

Lucky for the all blacks our back row have never stood up to theirs before, are all in awful form and theirs are in great form...
Oh no, wait. We are in the real world not opposite world. Looking forward to it, but false representing a fairly inaccurate article is surely beneath you, GE?

He has to do something to alleviate the boredom generated by cleaning the public lavatories at Waterloo station and his evening job behind the bar in Walkabout...

NZ selectors are in a tough spot - super rugby form has never been a good indicator of test form. Do they run with the tries and trusted? Or pick on form?
