Liverpool penalties
Why are Liverpool getting so many penalties this season?

Re: Liverpool penalties
Because they play attacking football that often leaves the defenders one against one and they are unable to cope with the skill of Suarez, Sturridge, the pace of Sterling and the movement of Coutinho?

Re: Liverpool penalties
Rodgers pointed out that his Swansea side got a lot of penalties in the Premier League as well, and I think there definitely is an argument there to be said that Liverpool do tend to get a lot of players in the box, and a lot of them are tricky. There have barely been any penalties that Liverpool have got this year that I don't think weren't fair, some obviously borderline, but on the same count a lot haven't been given.
I'm just glad they're being converted considering that year where Liverpool seemed to miss every penalty they were given.

I thought you were wumming originally but I'm concerned you're being serious now.
Easy to remember the penalties given, but what about the ones that weren't? Carrick sweaping Sturridges legs against United after the ref had already given three penalties, Eto'o shoving his backside in to Suarez or Oxlaide-Chamberlain getting away with an obvious one in the FA Cup?

Re: Liverpool penalties
We've had a couple of soft ones which in my view make up for the stone wall ones we've been denied. However, if you can tell me a team that's never had their fair share of "gifts" then I'll concede that we're being treated favourably by officials.
However, as pointed out (not that it should be to those with even a sniff of intelligence), the time you spend attacking in the opponent's area the more likely you are to create chances and the more likely you are to get a decision.
Seems fairly simple but some of you are struggling with it (Heaven only know why though, it's as if there's an agenda or an element of bitterness about it all)

Well done Chris, the first stage of any problem is admitting you have a problem

Re: Liverpool penalties
That makes no sense...if we weren't getting penalties and had 10 stonewallers denied I could understand people claiming we had an agenda (even if the article was pragmatic and well reasoned) but the fact is, we've got more penalties than others so why would we have any sort of agenda or bitterness?Dolphin Ziggler wrote:Yeah, its us that have the driven bitterness or agenda.

Re: Liverpool penalties
Tbf Liverpool have been denied a lot of penalties this season as well.
When Howard Webb put in a MOTM display against Liverpool in the FA Cup, by denying one of the most blatant penalty's you will ever see.
From memory, they also should of had some at Chelsea and Man City.
They even themselves out, because they have been given some generous ones this season aswell.

Whole context of what exactly? You've gone from making no sense to making absolutely no senseDolphin Ziggler wrote:DAVE667 wrote:That makes no sense...if we weren't getting penalties and had 10 stonewallers denied I could understand people claiming we had an agenda (even if the article was pragmatic and well reasoned) but the fact is, we've got more penalties than others so why would we have any sort of agenda or bitterness?Dolphin Ziggler wrote:Yeah, its us that have the driven bitterness or agenda.

I was thinking the same thing.
Chris thinks if you defend your team, then your showing complete bias to your team. Even if you are in the right.

Re: Liverpool penalties
Clearly isn't what I think, although I think labelling everyone bitter idiots wasn't fair either. We're not gonna agree on this, but in my opinion one team runs more of an agenda than any others and it's Liverpool. You disagree. Its not worth discussing.

Spot on mate, remember the Sterling offside against City? He was about the same distance onside as Silva was off on Saturday.

Yeah me and my mate were talking about that at work earlier. Liverpool should of won that game at Citeh, but the officials had other ideas. But also Sterling did miss a sitter in the 2nd half.

Re: Liverpool penalties
It was me who suggested that some people criticizing the number of penalties we've had this season may have been driven by an element of bitterness or even have an agenda whereby they intend to discredit our all round good work this season by implying our current standing in the league is down to penalties as if we still get penalties given for passing the ball about midfield for 90 minutes as opposed to attacking the opposition goal thus leading to more opportunities.
Dolph then less than subtly implied that Liverpool fans are general more bitter and resentful about everything without backing up his claim.

They don't. They just talk about how good the old one was.

They don't, they just bask in the reflected glow of their neighbour's bulb (whilst bitterly complaining that they haven't had a lightbulb for years but deserve one as much as anyone else).
