PRL Salary Cap Penalties
This post is just to clarify the possible penalties that can be levied against any club deemed to have exceeded the salary cap. It was agreed on 3rd September by all PRL members and has been in place for last season and the current one. Full details here:

Summary
There is a financial AND a points penalty for breaching the cap.
Financial penalty is £3 fine for every pound over the cap if a first offence, £5 for every pound over if a second offence and £10 per pound if a third offence.
Points deductions are as follows: 4 for exceeding bu up to 75k, 10pts for 75-125k, 20pts for 125-175k, 30pts for 175k to 250k and 40 pts for anything over 250k
Points deducted shall be applied to the season currently in progress IF a decision is reached prior to round 22. Otherwise it will apply to the following season.
Further penalties can be levied if the hearing deems the club filed false information.
A club can have it's salary cap reduced for following seasons in extreme cases.

Re: PRL Salary Cap Penalties
The other thread can continue with a did they, didn't they; should they, shouldn't they set of arguments. Just wanted to outline the agreed penalties.

Re: PRL Salary Cap Penalties
The if a decision is reached before round 22 makes complete sense as before now you'd think they may discover/uncover something round 21 not have the time etc. Puts a slightly different spin on it if it's put on ice until after that point though for me.

Fair enough Londontiger.
You talk about first offence,2nd offence, 3rd offence - do we know where each club is on this?
There have been undisclosed minor breaches haven't there or is it that just more media speculation?

First, second, third are relative to the previous two seasons only.
