CL Last 16
First topic message reminder :
Part Moyes, part the squad SAF left him. Naive in the extreme to think yesterday would've ended up any different with SAF at the helm

Since PSG's second goal, it seems both teams have settled for it. Poor indeed.

Ask Lavezzi and Cavani what happened the last time they went to Stamford Bridge with a 3-1 lead.
Still think people would prefer needing a 2-0 home win over a win in Munich.

Well played Paris.
Chelsea had nothing second half. PSG didn't even play that well and beat them. Cant see Chelsea coming back from another 3-1
And I cant see PSG getting to the final unless United do the miracle

2 well balanced ties last night, 2 big wins tonight.
It was evenly poised at 2-1, 3-1 is a big hill to climb. Chelsea may regret that.

Well considering in the league, Citeh should be doing a lot lot better than them, i would hardly call that bottling.
Also considering there one of the minor sides left in the competition, i would hardly call it bottling the CL, also they were the underdogs against PSG.

I wouldn't call chelsea a minor side. What does that say about the quality of the EPL if chelsea are a minor side?
Chelsea will more than likely finish 3rd in the league this year, they were dead favs until a few games ago.
Well if chelsea are a minor team I will not say they bottled it I will congratulate them on reaching the quarter finals haha winners in 2012 and have fallen to minnows in 2013/2014

Yeah but they won it in 2012, not only was it a complete fluke it was also a huge underdog story.
When i say a minor team, i mean there hardly better than the likes of Barca, Madrid (Both Madrids), Bayern, and now as seen PSG.

Chelsea have among the biggest transfer and payroll budgets in the entire world of football. Their team is loaded with internationals and stars and thy are absolutely bottling it the last couple of weeks. I am surprised at how easily they were manhandled by PSG. PSG should have had one or two more and Chelsea created literally nothing. They were fortunate Silva made a boneheaded gift for that penalty kick or this tie would already been done and dusted. They aren't out of it yet but this was a poor performance. They really didn't create anything and were gifted a road goal and probably should have given up one or two more.

How can you call a recent CL winner, minor and underdogs. Beggars belief.

Why are you surprised? PSG have bigger budgets. Plus we are never great away in the Champions League. We have an average at best away record in the Champions League. Even in group stage games.
Re: CL Last 16
Well Nick I thought you guys would play better with Jose organizing the side. But frankly I found 3-1 to be a highly fortunate result as it was even more one sided than that. I think it is a big stretch to somehow make Chelsea out to be a long shot or Cinderella story. They are easily one of the handful of biggest spenders in terms of transfers and salary in all of Europe. Especially, considering that Zlatan did nothing in this match.

Re: CL Last 16
JT is Zlatan's kryptonite.
The Cinderella story only comes from the Napoli turnaround, being 2-0 with ten men at the Nou Camp, then containing Bayern with four key players suspended, a rookie left back playing on the left of a midfield three and two centre backs who had one good hamstring between them.
And the poor away form stretched back to Jose's first stint.

I'm sure it has been said a few times already (although no one in the media seems to be raising it) but letting Lukaku go to Everton looks a really stupid move from the egotistical one. It's probably gonna be a very costly decision.

Re: CL Last 16
Lukaku is crap for Chelsea. Seems it's just not meant to be at the minute. Doesn't help people called him the new Drogba at 16 and then he signs for us at 18 and has to replace Didi at 21. He just looks as if it all gets to him and he can't perform.
Plus he was quoted at Anderlecht that he loves Chelsea and Drogba was his childhood idol.
Tough job for anyone never mind a 21-year-old.

I don't think he's done that well. He's scored 8 league goals this season and 3 of them were in one game. That reminds me of the time Berbatov won the golden boot (or at least finished runner-up) purely because he scored 5 against Blackburn.

Maybe Mourinho was right, and his team was too young and wasn't ready this year? He's been downplaying expectations all year, and everybody has dismissed as mind games, if Chelsea do go out and don't win the league then Mourinho was proved right. Even though I'm sure he didn't believe it himself.
