First topic message reminder :

Wilshere out for 6 weeks according to BBC. Hairline fracture on foot. Considering Arsenal have been nursing him through the season because of his ankle injuries I think it would be a risk taking him (not questioning his ability) due to the tight schedule of games.

Wilshire will get second half.

Kind of sad that Hart is our best player so far. Peru defending deep and playing counter.

Sterling will smash this team up though. That's what we need. A player prepared to pull them out of shape and take men on

I don't know why anyone thinks Rooney can play in this role.

His passing and dribbling aren't up to it.

Bloody dreadful! If this is our tempo in suitable conditions I dread to imagine what it's going to be like come the WC!

So predictable; ball passed in straight lines and if there is no ball over the top or crossed in...then it goes side to side or back. Don't look for a creative ball through or anything...though part of the problem is most of our players can't use their weaker foot!

25 mins gone and I haven't seen one positive yet against a bloody poor (that's being polite) Peru team.

Barkley drives though in that position, Rooney is trying to many low percentage flicks.

Yeah looks like you are right so far.

But at the very least that would have given Sturridge great confidence. Does that for fun for Liverpool, not so much for England.

I want to see Barkley in the no 10 second half

Aye. We know what's going on. The lads should press higher. But they don't want to get injured. Stick the players in with no fear. Barkley and sterling will shread this team. You can get the ball of this team . And the chances will come. I just hope he changes the team.

rooney just jumped out of a tackle, thats fine and clearly one eye on the finals but i agree with ent that doesnt stop you from passing it around or your touch being worse off.

Rooney is terrible, probably 0 out of 10 tonight. Must admit we look susceptible to the counter. Jagielka looks rusty & the full backs have been caught, especially Johnson, as Lallana offers nothing defensively. Just lethargic all-round really.

I know its early but things don't look that great. Rooney/Sturridge combination looks woeful.

Hodgson won't have the bottle to drop Rooney, even though his partnership with Sturridge doesn't work. Lallana doesn't offer enough defensively, hence why Johnson looks vulnerable with no support. Henderson & Wilshere is a 50\50.

Yeah, Peru B falling apart. Result papers over the cracks. Distinctly average.
