Groves - Froch undercard - Big disappointment !!
First topic message reminder :
"For a special fight like this we need a special undercard with two world title fights on it........" Who said that ??
What we got so far.........
Joshua vs Tomato can............
Mitchell in a meaningless final eliminator we all know fighters don't need eliminators.......Maduma has never fought anybody........and Mitchell has shown he's British standard and no more.
Degale in another meaningless eliminator .......That he doesn't need to fight.....Gonzales is nothing special and can't punch......and Degale is a stinker !!
and McDonnell is fighting a guy who If one glances at his record has hardly fought anybody with a winning record !! Mismatch all the way !!
This guy's last ten opponents are a combined..............85 - 94 - 15.....Disgrace he's even fighting for a title.... Anybody remember Seung soon Lee who was number 1 in the WBA at Welter and was decked twice by Breland and stopped in 54 seconds ???
I said a couple of months ago that the undercard would be poor because he didn't need a decent one mainly because the fight was sold out pretty much straight away..
Sorry that I was right !!.................Maybe Hearn has an ace up his sleeve but I doubt it...........Guess a few more olympians will be chucked some meat !!
Don't get me wrong It wouldn't be a bad Saturday night bill on SKY........But for a huge history making event It's a disappointment..

Sometimes better if the main fight is not so big...
80,000 tickets sold, Sponsorship deals and up front PPV sales can buy a better undercard than this...

Apparently when Hearn confirmed the Degale fight, he said both Froch and Groves was on the phone to him saying "how much is he getting"... ie, they dont really want any other big fights as they have already sold the fight, any other fighters coming in take some of their profit...
If they were still looking to clear tickets and sell the fight, there for sure they would be seeking others to help...

Alway's the same these undercards on big fights, almost alway's rubbish once the promoter's sold the tickets,Warren was nearly alway's guilty of it,bit of a rip off, that's why the venues are nearly half empty till the main event, everyone's in the pub due to lack of interest.

I am attending and am actually reasonably happy with the undercard.
You have Mitchell and Degale in what, at least on paper appear to be decent tests, and the novelty of seeing potentially our next great heavyweight. Don't get me wrong it's not a fantastic undercard by any means but considering the magnitude of the main event it could have been a lot worse.

Has Hearn put on a decent undercard in the last two years? Genuinely can somebody answer this.
The Froch v Groves I undercard was dire on paper and on the night. Eddie lucked out when the main event which, was a mismatch on paper turned out to be a good fight.
A lot of fans seem to be very happy in the knowledge that they are keeping the latest reg Bentley under Eddie's backside at all times.
