No more worries for Saints. The have a four try bonus point so the home semi final is secure.

Quins. Bath need two points (without Quins getting 5) to go through

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 22
If he continues to put kicks into the nearest Quins defender, you needn't worry about the match result. Quins do look better but this is really on the knife edge.ChequeredJersey wrote:The lead again. 10-7. Ford worries me, he's the way for Bath to win this game, but if he gets injured that's awful for England
Saints have their bonus point at halftime, actually got all 4 tries in the second quarter. Need to keep this up for the next 14 quarters so I can be happy. And I like to be happy.........

Tigers took 20 mins yo get going bug dominated thereafter. Stankovitch, Parling and Williams all injured in the first half. Late penalty try ar the scrum but a gloss on the first half though a Sarries player was lucky not to receive a card for a nasty tackle on Mele just before.

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 22
Why was that last sequence a Quins penalty? Looked to me Sinckler pushed Stringer away from the ball in touch. I would have given it to Bath. Or was the penalty given for the little pushing between the teams right after? I didn't hear what was said on tv?

The ball was carried out by bath, stringer then dropped the ball and tried to pick it up again to delay the quick throw in. Sinckler pushed him off the ball.

Wow Barnes has missed a lot of naughtiness. Some blocking there frpm Quins and a lot of off the feet at rucks.

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 22
OK, a comfortable win over Falcons and Glaws loss to Wuss sees us finish in 8th, our worst prem placing since arriving, equal with our first year. Disappointing overall, but set against that the silverware, even if it was just the LV= Cup, and performances like our first 40 mins against Cardiff and their 6 B&I Lions. Personal highlight of the season tho was the away trip to Toulon, and partying with the team afterwards down on the waterfront. Proud of Exe

Very sloppy game from Tigers, will give something for Cockers to roast them about for the next two weeks although it will be a very different team next week.

Interesting thing is that IF it was to be a quins v Saints final..(only saying IF) that would have HUGE issues for the first England test in NZ...

At least he told them on a couple of occasions to give it a rest, which is better than last week's ref!

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 22
Sad seeing bath fall at the last hurdle but success in knock out rugby comes with experience and the top 4 have been there and done it a lot recently. Also it was a big ask with Webber, Garvey and louw away. Luckily for us we still have the amlin final to aim for.

Robshaw gets flak for England for not being verbal enough to the refs, so his change in this regard is a good thing.

Has anybody checked what was in the Saints water bottles, 74 unanswered point. Is that a AP record?
I weakened wasps side, but once they woke up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As a neutral, I thought that that should have been a penalty, deliberate knock on, only one hand attempting to catch the ball.

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 22
Gutted. 20 weeks in the top four and that happens. Losing at home to Sale is the turning point, should have been a simple 4 points, but that debacle at the end of the game leaves a sour taste. Good performance from us today though, without our best three forwards, but Quins deserve it. Well played Quins, cracking game. They are going to be scary next year with sinkler a season on and Yarde on a wing!

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 22
Sarries were awesome for the first 20 mins and after that it was largely Tigers. Waldrom gifted Sarries two tries with blind passes to put Itoje the ball 10m out then set Spencer free.
Might be worrying for Sarries that Balmain deconstructed first Gill when playing his natural tight head and then switched to loose when the imposing young Italian Pasquali came on and did a number on Johnston.
Didn't see the Melck incident. Came after Tigers had barrelled a rolling maul to within a metre then spread the ball wide for Manu to score. Melck was clearly involved in the maul and the AR made the decision whilst Flood was lining up the kick. No replay. The AR called it , told the ref and a straight red.

All refs hate Saints, that is taken for granted, you can't be at God's right hand and not be hated by the likes of referees who will be judged at some late date in the future with some influence from a few SAINTS.
I certainly hope that Saints don't play poorly, but Tigers are on a roll at the moment and with Croft back as well............................. Just make sure Tank is playing so that he can gift us a few tries.
It will be interesting to see which centre can stop the opposition "unstoppable force's", Allen or Pisi. Tigers probably have the edge in the front 3 but I prefer Lawes and Manoa to Slater and Kitchiner and Wood, Clarke and Dickinson are a better unit I think than whatever backrow Tigers put out, if not better individually.

Re: Aviva Premiership - Round 22
Personally I'd take Slater and Kitchener over any second row combo that Saints can name.
Croft looked Ok but didn't really get into the game. Mafi looked more influential though Croft exerted more pressure on the Sarries line out.
I expect a Tigers team of;
Ayerza, Youngs, Mulipola
Slater, Kitchener
Gibson, Crane, Salvi
Youngs, Flood
Allen, Manu
Goneva, Tait, Morris
With Williams, Parling, Stanko and Scully going off injured it'll be interesting to see who is fit. Given that Matera was probably man if the match I'd have thought he'd take the back row sub spot over Waldrom or Croft. He is a beast and gets through an awful lot of work.

Was at Welford Rd today. As a neutral.
Really enjoyed the game.
Morris and Sculley, are they the main 2 wingers, or they rotate.
Like welford rd, good ground.
second time i've been there, was there for the irish game at end of last season.
Be tough for the Tigers away to Saints.
Great win for them.
Also good to see Irish win.
