Rabo Playoffs Empty Rabo Playoffs

Post by alive555 Sun 11 May 2014, 5:39 am

Now that Bruno has won Euro , (that mans an inspiration for some, literally), we need to turn our attention to the playoffs ;-

Glasgow Warriors will clash with Munster on Friday 16 May. Kick-off will be at 19:35 (BST) at Scotstoun.

Leinster v Ulster is scheduled for Saturday 17 May. Kick-off will be at 19:00 (BST) at the RDS, Dublin.

If Leinster win their semi final , I guess that means the final is played at Leinster.

If Ulster win do they also get home final or will that go to the winners of Glasgow vs Munster as they both finished above them in the league ?

someone pls explain.

extract from pro 12 website.......At the conclusion of the regular season, the top four placed teams enter the Play-Off stage, with the winner of the first vs fourth and second vs third Play-Offs entering the Final. The venue for the Final is chosen by the highest placed team in the regular season.

Ulster are the only team that can't have a home final. If Leinster win they will have a home final no matter who they play. If Ulster win, the winner of Glasgow vs Munster will host the final.

Which leads to a bit of a problem if Glasgow end up hosting the final.

In terms of where they will hold the game? They'll have to nominate the stadium this week I believe.

I think the likely candidate will be Ibrox, as it will be hosting the 7's at the commonwealths

*Edit* And also Rangers are skint

Ibrox pitch not big enough for 15s apparently.   The CG 14 7s got special dispensation from the IRB to play there.

It'd be a lovely problem to have!

It is and obviously we need to beat Munster first, a difficult task. I really fancy Ulster for the win.
