Brook v Porter: Can Kell win?
I don't think he can win this fight, and I get the feeling Hearn knows it.
Hearn has made no secret of not really wanting Porter. Personally, I can't blame him. Porter seems all wrong for Brook. Don't get me wrong, he can outbox a fighter like Porter if he ups his work rate, but I feel the quality of opponent Kell has faced these last 2 years haven't prepared him for a fighter who will bullrush him the way Porter will. I see Porter walking in and wailing away on Kell, and if he can knock Paulie into next week, I don’t think Kell's chin would stand up.
Not a fight I would fancy if I was Team Brook.

Problem is, if not Porter, it's Paccy, Floyd or Thurman.

Easy to do that against Malignaggi when the return fire doesn't bother you, doubt he fights that way against someone who can punch. Brook UD.

If he asserts his authority on porter he can win. Porter likes to come forward, didn't look the same fighter backed up by diaz. Can and will are two different things. If he has sorted out his conditioning this could be a very good fight, if he hasn't, he's in trouble down the stretch.

This fight will more then likely not come off.
Brook next fight will be a final, final, final, final, final, final WBC Sliver Intercontinatel European title eliminator.

Yep, Brook has to turn up first!
Since when did Porter become the second coming of Mike Tyson anyway. Its Kell's for the taking. No easy fights in that division, he's got to go for it.

Re: Brook v Porter: Can Kell win?
Kell is garbage and gas fought absolutely no really decent top ten fighters so how on earth he gets that pathetic nickname and hype is beyond me.
Porter has just come off the back of destroying Paulie and beating Alexander handily.
Hopefully Porter smashes this chump unto next week.
Cant be arsed turning up on the right weight, fights complete nobodies and proclaims to have been unlucky with his title problems when he attempted fighting Devon about 80 times in between bouts with P4P kings Carson Jones and that south American dude Robles or some crap.
Waste of space, has not got the balls or the skills let alone determination to get in the top ten world rankings let alone a titlist.
Even if he is world ranked, then its joke rankings because i can name 10 fighters who urinate all over Crunchy Nuts.

Re: Brook v Porter: Can Kell win?
Khan was quoted by the BBC a couple of days ago saying that Brook won't fight Porter and it's a duck.
"Brook-Porter is not going to happen because Kell doesn't think he can win it," Khan told BBC Sport.
Khan added that he felt Porter's performance against former world champion Paulie Malignaggi last month would have worried Brook.
"I don't think Kell has got the bottle to take a big fight like that - he's always been all talk when it comes to the big fights," Khan said. "Some fighters are like that."

Mobile I am going to come to your house and laugh in your face if Kell wins. Never seen such a vendetta since Strongback and Eddie Hearn.

Don't you just love Khan, how many times has Brook called him out,not a big enough fight for him is Khan's excuse, people in glass house's shouldn't throw stones, still waiting for Khan to avenge Prescott.Strongback wrote:Khan was quoted by the BBC a couple of days ago saying that Brook won't fight Porter and it's a duck.

I know Alex.....ill be eating my words.
Don't get me wrong, if he gets to world level and applies himself and puts in the effort and looks fantastic...then hey I've been proved wrong...has happened before and will certainly happen again....better so with him being British.
But i cant help but think he wins a title against either a nobody ie WBC Title Fight between Saul Alvarez vs Matthew Hatton....or something equally ridiculous like Quigg vs The Mexican guy.
Eddie is a master of making world champs out of literally nothing....against...nothing.

How do you suggest that happens then Mobile with the champions being Pacquiao, Mayweather, Porter and Thurman?

Re: Brook v Porter: Can Kell win?
Easy Hammer. Someone will be stripped.
or better still, Thurman will vacate it to fight Porter for HIS title, and the vacant one will be sorted in the Steel City.
Witter vs Brook.
Witter, a teak tough veteran of the sport with a risky style, former world champion of champions, the guy Hatton wouldn't touch due to fear......blah blah.
Or he will fight for the WBA title because Mayweather will become super champ.
Never the less, i cant see him fighting these guys yet, i really cant.

Re: Brook v Porter: Can Kell win?
So one of the four including three big American names and Pacquiao will be stripped to do Brook a favour, I can't see that happening somehow.
Then again you say he's not good enough so why would you expect him to face those guys?

There is something about Brook that makes me want him to just p1ss off until he actually fights someone noteable.

Re: Brook v Porter: Can Kell win?
Believe that Brook can win. As someone said above its one thing to knock out a guy who couldn't knock out a blind special kid, it's another to have fire coming back and having to deal with that.
IF, and it's a big if, Brook turns up and turns it on he gives Porter more than he can handle. If he turns up, much like Alexander sometimes does, and is flat then he gets pulled out by the corner or stopped on his feet.
First things first he has to actually sign to fight him then avoid getting injured in training.

Do you say this sort of thing to impress people ?? ....
Brook has the skills to beat Porter..............Problem is he reminds me of Michael Watson in so far as he gets hit too much and switches off a little too much also.........Lack of power can hurt at the top level too..
Just thing there is something missing with Kell... quality fighter that he is........But I'm not sold on Porter either.......
So Yes Kell can win..

It's a satirical (pi$$ take if you don't know what it means, know Americans don't get it), sarcastic comment on PMs lack of power.
And pot kettle with some of the crap you come out with. So get off your high horse before you do permanent damage to its back.

Eddie Hearn's Twitter suggests he is seriously scared of Porter:
By all accounts Porter is the new GGG... Going to be so sweet when @SpecialKBrook KO's him! #andthenew
Just sounds as though he's petrified.

Re: Brook v Porter: Can Kell win?
I don't think Port is the second coming of Tyson, and a fighter with his skillset will lose eventually. I also think Brook has a better all round skillset. That said, I don't think Brook has much of an inside game, and I am not sure he will be able ot keep Porter off him. The struggles v Carson Jones and the lack of top class opponents really worry me, too. Porter has beaten Alexander, who although an ugly fighter to watch, is still a proven entity on the world scene. He also smashed Paulie. This feels like trouble for Brook to me.

Re: Brook v Porter: Can Kell win?
Whilst Kell Brook has never fought anyone world class and for me is a mistake hype job. I mean when your signature victories are Carson Jones(twice), who lets be honest is a stiff, and Senchenko, who was a title holder who no-one had ever heard of until Malignaggi beat him.
On the other hand Porter's not all that flash either. Struggled like hell with a long passed his prime Julio Diaz(twice). But Porter did manage to get some credibility on his CV by beating Alexander and Malignaggi. But Porter's victory over Paulie is being vastly overrated. Porter outweighed Paulie by 15-20lbs on fight night
I doubt Brook would give him such advantage.
Porter's got experience going in with better opposition whereas Brook's a wild card.
Factor in Porter was ko'd as an amateur, so maybe he's got a weak chin.
I'd favour Porter, but Thurman destroys both on the same night.

Re: Brook v Porter: Can Kell win?
Brook should not be taking this fight. He has only been a professional for 10 years and even though he looks a good prospect he needs to gain experience first before going into to big matchups like this. He should fight that Carson Jones again I reckon

Re: Brook v Porter: Can Kell win?
I think my words during the Alexander/Porter fight was 'Alexander's getting worked by a midget'. In all honesty I didn't give Porter much credit as I don't think very much of Alexander. The Paulie fight though opened my eyes as it did everyone else. He looks the real deal and pretty humble too from what little I've heard him speak.
I don't believe Porter/Brook will happen. If it does it's not one that Brook can win.
