Froch deserves to make the HOF
Re: Froch HOF
I don't think so. But let's wait until his career is over.

Re: Froch HOF
Care to enlighten Steffan? The mans been in consecutive world title fights for years fighting and usually beating whoever is out in front of him. Revenges Kessler defeat with a great display, if he beats GG decisively tonight then what more would he need to do? Aside from Avenge the Ward loss which is probably just out of his reach.

Re: Froch HOF
The main negative for his case is that he was never "the man" at his weight. But, then again, the HoF standards aren't particularly stringent, so who knows?

Re: Froch HOF
He defeated two lineal divisional champs and fought the toughest competition in his time (second best to only Ward). Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, Johnson, Pascal, Groves, Bute. That's enough.

Re: Froch HOF
He wasn't even close to competing with a one armed Ward. Lost to a past peak Kessler, dirrell clowned him when not running away and I really feel got jobbed on a home decision, Taylor I'll leave out, as fights are 12 rounds. Taking all that into account, yes he goes in, but Kessler goes ahead of him, there's plenty of space in Canastota.

No but that said they are letting anyone into the Hall of Fame these days and the modern climate of having any number of belts available means every fighters career seems higher achievement and its loaded with world titles and world title defences.

Not for me I think Froch is a good fighter, but the HOF should for great fighters even though this hasn't been the case over the years.

Re: Froch HOF
Stallone and many others should be nowhere near the HOF,and whoever put them in are clowns,2 wrongs don't make a right.

Re: Froch HOF
Louis was lucky he want around when Rocky, Apollo Creed, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago and Thunderlips were around. Even Spider Rico would have beaten him.

Yep, that's his main positive. Possibly the toughest run in the modern era.

The answer to that is obvious when you are completely blinkered by your Welsh bias pal

Re: Froch HOF
I am a Froch fan (the fighter not the person) but this victory does nothing for his legacy to be honest. Groves is still a rookie and has yet to win a world title or beat anyone of any serious note. When you look beyond the hype of the fight he is just another challenger that Froch had to rematch due to the controversy of the first fight. You cant help but think that your Calzaghe's, Ward's, Roy Jones Jrs along with British fighters like Eubank and Benn would have beaten Groves convincingly first time around. I am not saying that Froch should not be inducted into the Hall of Fame but I don't think this second victory against a fighter still relatively unproven at world level suddenly means he automatically gets in.

Re: Froch HOF
To be honest, I'm not one of those who is in favour of super-stringent criteria for the hall of fame. Whilst I'm a big fan of the now dormant 606V2 hall of fame, which has a best of the best only approach, I think that those discussions are best left to the fans, historians and anoraks. For me, the actual hall of fame is more about being true to its title as a hall of FAME, a place that remembers the names and deeds of famous people. Whilst even on this basis I do think the selections can be a bit wayward, I believe that the hall of fame should exist primarily as a record and memorial of the most important fighters in their respective eras. On this criteria, I think Froch should and will be inducted at Canastota.

Yes. There are a lot of lesser fighters than Froch in the HOF.

Re: Froch HOF
Froch will get in. If there was any doubt then the 80,000 Wembley event will remove that given the occasion.
