Donaire v Vetyeka live spoilers
Donaire looking like an OK boxer with a concussive left hand thus far, although he has been hindered by Vetyaka's head/elbow slicing both eyes to different levels.
In danger of being a TKO on cuts or a technical decision

The doctor didn't actually look at the eye directly before the fight was halted. Both Bob Sheridan and I are confused.

Donaire wins by technical decision.
Personally I'm disappointed, as the fight was heating up. Vetyeka was living with Donaire as a boxer, only Nonito's power was the difference. If it had continued I would heavily favour Donaire by stoppage, as whenever he connected cleanly Vetyeka clearly felt it.
So Donaire wins, but we learn little

Donaire very apologetic for not providing a full fight. Says he will happily rematch as he doesn't feel like he won a full fight. Classy

What the hell just happened? Flash was probably winning, but with about two thirds left, was hardly on his victory lap. Odd, and I lost some dosh.

Balls I thought this was on at some stupid hour in the morning, was hoping Donaire would put on a show and confirm his status among the all time great little men.

Don't see why he was just well and truly beaten by a terrific boxer who has an awful style.

Suppose I'm the only one who doesn't quite understand how all three judges scored the fifth round 10-9?

Exactly, but all cards read 49-46, Flash winning the fifth 10-9

Re: Donaire v Vetyeka live spoilers
I think Donaire would have stopped him anyway, that knockdown was very very heavy.
Donaire seems to be getting a lot of flack for taking what people call the 'easy way out' (on other websites). Lets be honest those cuts were horrible and were not caused by anything legal in a boxing ring...
I thought Donaire looked much better last night, from what I saw and I'm really glad to see him back. Donaire is a breath of fresh air in boxing, always exciting (when he has an obliging dance partner) and he is always well spoken and fair. He will give Vetyeka the rematch and finish what he started. That left hook has to be the best shot in boxing, it polaxes most people who get hit with it.
It was interesting that they said Donaire had the Flu when he fought Darchinyan, that would explain the mediocre performance that night. He is so much better when he uses his speed and footwork.

Featherweight may well be good for him, in that he knows he can't rely on power to get highlight real KO's. Not that I'd be annoyed if he did deliver a few more.
