So glad its not just me. Obviously one rule for Leicester another for everyone else...
Well, not for nuthin, I am not minding the bold. Clearly Leicester have evil powers, but this is a rather benign use of those powers, methinks.

We have signed Rotherham player Jack Roberts (was Scarlets before last season and play age grade for wales) Plays centre,Titans fans seem to have liked him rating him like Socino of Falcons.

Not a positive sign for Javiah Pohe and George Catchpole. Don't know much about him but the Rotherham scouts are good at finding talent.

He is more of a 12 than 13 so prob affect Pohe more than catchpole.
Pohe just hasn't been impressive by the sounds of it this season considering C.Thacker is starting the A league games.
TBH Would take next season
12) Allen, Bai, Hepetema, Roberts
13) Manu, Loamanu, Goneva, Catchpole
Feel if Hepetema can get a good run of injury free weeks by next season he will be the Bowden type player we have missed this season.

Has Pohe been given any first team chances? I think I saw him play last season and he looked pretty good, he's certainly a big lad, but then again most of your backline have struggled this season so perhaps it's a bit harsh to judge him.

Not really but he was fairly poor in the pre season games and in the A league games he started.
It maybe harsh but he looked out of shape in the pre season. If he doesn't start in the LV cup or the Baabaas game I reckon he will move.
c.Thacker has outplayed him in the A league games ATM.

Re: Leicester Tigers 2014/15 Thread.
Pole did look good off the bench vs Bath very combative and made a good carry on his five minutes on the pitch. His work rate isn't very high and I see he's been playing for Notts recently. He makes a big impact ball in hand and his handling is pretty good. Just need him to adapt a little.
Charlie Thacker is supposed to be one to watch an England under 18 and soon to be an under 20. Then again we've had a few centres that were ones to watch and none are causing waves other than Manu.

Re: Leicester Tigers 2014/15 Thread.
The problem with pohe at the minute is if he had to play 60 minutes of AP rugby there is a big chance that teams will run around him.
I like Thacker and Catchpole more than some other centres we have had.
Also we have signed Paul Grant on loan from notts (he has played for Otago and Montpiller) he plays 8 but apparently we are looking to use him @ lock

Re: Leicester Tigers 2014/15 Thread.
Pohe has his chance show himself to the management.
Wonder why no Catchpole, or Williams (I think rhys is injured).
Be great to see Bryant playing though and possibly C.Thacker.
Actually looking at them there is some talented players in the academy ATM good to see.

Really good to see Harrison get a start as well. Always rated him highly and felt he's deserved a few more chances but with Youngs and Mele it's understandable he hasn't.
Any debutants in amongst that? A few guys like Beckett, Farnworth, Bryant, etc who might have been capped but can't bring myself to remember exactly. It's been a long day!

Re: Leicester Tigers 2014/15 Thread.
Cheers Welly!
Hadn't even checked the bench to see Maksumiw, Milne and Charlie Thacker. Jack Roberts there as well of course!
Not sure if Tommy Bell has featured yet either thinking about it.
It's interesting that Farnworth is starting ahead of Harry Thacker.

Re: Leicester Tigers 2014/15 Thread.
It's a team with a nice balance to it. LI look stronger and have home support so will probably win it but it's a good chance for some of the young guns to make a statement. Particularly interested to see how Bryant gets on. He's a young lad who certainly has potential but has been hampered by injury and now needs to boss a back line of older players who he isn't used to playing with. If he shines then it bodes well for his future career.

Got to be pleased with that win. Young side away from home who had to play on the edge a bit with LI dominating possession. Held firm and grabbed the win though.
Young fly half apparently created the first for Benjamin whilst Barbieri grabbed the other. Only slight downer is that Pohe went off with a knee injury.

Also can Bleddyn get any info right Jeremey Bell had a good game and Daryl Gibson made a charge down for us against Ulster.

Looked to me like they managed to give 3 straight penalties away in a row for pulling down a maul within touching distance of the line without seeing yellow or conceding a penalty try so on the edge is one way of putting it ...

When because we had 2 players being given YC (one in the first half about 15mins) the other second half.

Before the first YC - the ref finally remembered he had cards when Adam infringed for the 4th time in a row (team not Adam) but the YC should have come earlier along with a penalty try IMO. Although I admit I'm biased I just can't see LI would have gotten away with doing the same thing.

Every bloody Leicester V Irish game there is always something with the ref, what is it with them.

Can't comment without seeing it. Could the LI boys pass comment on our front row and ten? The hooked Farnworth is still in his teens and the right head Pasquali recently 21. Bryant at 10 is only 20. There are hopes all three will progress in the coming years.

Not sure about your 10 as to be honest he didn't get much ball to play with and your scrum was struggling all afternoon - makes it even more puzzling how LI managed to lose this one with a dominant scrum and far more possession and territory.

Our defense sounded tighter.
Barbieri (7) sounded like he was everywhere.
TBH backs sounded like they all got limited ball.

Re: Leicester Tigers 2014/15 Thread.
Not a surprise that the scrum struggled when all of the tight five are under 25. If Bryant didn't have a lot of ball all he could do was play solid and he made the break for the first try.
The new defence coach could turn out to be a master stroke by telephone end of the season. He's keeping us in games we're struggling in at the minute which could mean we can still challenge when the full squad is back. Might give us an edge we previously lacked in the playoffs (should we claw our way back in).

A lot has gone downhill since 2009. We did lose the last of our world cup winners during 2009 and 2010. Looks like it's starting to be nice and oppressive again. Will get even better as we get the likes of Tom Young and Dan Cole back as well.

Back line looks good. Thorn, Salvi and Tait rested is probably for the best.
Big ask for Farnworth our fifth choice hooker.
Be interested to see how Pearce gets on.

Most of his starts in his first season for Glaws came at 15 (about 8 or 9 games).

Burns was an OK fb. He's not great under the high ball and his defensive alignment can be queationable, but he gets more space to be creative and his kicking game usually adds a lot. He's never going to be a front line fb but he is an adept deputy.

FBs rarely get to make tackles - so the high ball is their main defensive duty. It will be interesting to see ho wpragmatic the Barbarians are - a Damp tuesdy knigh under floodlights calls for high balls - but not barbarian style rugby.

No it's not Rugby Fan. Only radio and twitter coverage. Slightly annoyed no one bothered to cover it. Suppose Sky have Champions League football to show instead and BT have probably maxed their rugby budget this season already.

Great news in regards to Cole. Be a massive boost to get a player of his quality back in the squad.
Missed the game last night but it sounded like a cracker. Can only hope one or two like the look of Welford Rd and decide to join for next season. Saili and Brussow would be nice.
