Dundee Utd sign pacey 6'3 inch striker Mario Bilate from Sparta Rotterdam on a two year contract, wasn't immensely prolific with Sparta, 22 goals in 80 games but has all the attributes that could see him hit it off with Nadir Ciftći

Re: The 2014-15 Season SPFL Thread
The usual abysmal performance from Motherwell in Europe, losing late goals in both ties especially with a winnable third round does nothing for our coeff. Good wins for Aberdeen and Saints though, both against pretty good sides, Aberdeen face Sociedad next though with Griezzman, Vela and co.

Re: The 2014-15 Season SPFL Thread
I don't think Sociedad will be at their best when they play us. I still don't see us getting through but if we can get a decent result in Spain then the game at Pittodrie will be great.
Griezzman is only due back 2 days before the first leg and Vela has yet to train this pre-season. They also have the Swiss lad Seferovic, but not heard his status. Their first choice keeper is away to Barcelona too.

Re: The 2014-15 Season SPFL Thread
SPFL Premiership Week 2 Preview
Dundee Utd vs Motherwell: Dundee Utd started the Season with a brilliant 3-0 win at Pittodrie, they've lost Ryan Gauld & Andrew Robertson during the Summer but also strengthened considerably with Mario Bilate from Rotterdam, Jaraslow Fojut from Poland and Conor Townsend on a season long loan from Hull (who was part of the Robertson deal) they've also signed kids Blair Spittal and Charlie Telfer as their new projects, Motherwell were poor on Saturday, they beat St Mirren but they got absolutely battered for 70 minutes, they've been best of the rest in Scotland for the last 3 years but cant keep losing first team players, Dundee Utd d9minated this fixture last Season, won 3 of the 4 ties and scored 14 goals in the process losing 5 goals - Prediction: Dundee Utd 3-1 Motherwell
Inverness C.T vs Dundee: ICT started the season with a victory over Hamilton, they always tend to start the Season well and Billy McKay always sets the pace with goals, this season looks no different, Dundee won the Championship last Season and have strengthened considerably, they have won of the best young Scottish managers in the Scottish game in Paul Hartley, started the season with a point at home to Kilmarnock in a game they probably should have won - Predictions: Inverness C.T 1-1 Dundee
Kilmarnock vs Aberdeen: Kilmarnock started the season with a positive point away at Dens Park, I feel they've been considerably weakened however with the loss of Kris Boyd, his goals last season singled handedly kept them up, Aberdeen have started the Season brilliantly with great wins in Europe, the pick being their 2-1 win in Holland against Groningen and also their performance against Real Sociedad, they suffered a big loss at the weekend but felt it was a European hangover, they'll be desperate to get off the mark tonight - Predictions: Kilmarnock 0-2 Aberdeen
Partick Thistle vs Ross County: Thistle were one of the most entertaining sides in the Division last Season, they played some great stuff, if they had a decent striker for the full Season they'd have challenged for the top 6, their problems lay at Home, they didn't register a win at Fir Hill until late on in the Season, I don't see much changing, they lost their loan striker Lyle Taylor and their best player Aaron Taylor-Sinclair, Ross County have once again signed a new team, seems like they do this every Summer, I feel they could sneak this one but I'm going to punt for a draw - Predictions: Partick Thistle 2-2 Ross County
St Johnstone vs Celtic: The The Saints are just off the back of their greatest ever Season, they won the Cup while maintaining a top 6 finish, they also once again punched above their weight in Europe with a fantastic result against FC luzern, unfortunately they've since sold Stevie May, their talisman last Season with 27 goals, Celtic have had a poor start to their reign under Ronny Deila, they were far to good for KR Reykjavik in Europe but were totally outclassed by Legia Warsaw, they've sold Fraser Forster and lost Scott Brown to injury, players don't seem comfortable in the style Deila is looking to impliment either, that being said, I think they'll have enough to get a win tonight - Predictions: St Johnstone 1-3 Celtic
St Mirren vs Hamilton: The Buddies looked excellent on Saturday against Motherwell but an all to familar feel wrang true when they lost a goal and then a man (Jim Goodwin) and then struggled to get back into the game, they moved the ball about well though and should get more joy against the Accies, Hamilton were fantastic in the Championship last Season and were unlucky not to go up as Champions, their Play-Off victory was excellent but they're my picks to go down this Season and I fancy them to strugfle tonight at Ne Love Street - Predictions: St Mirren 2-0 Hamilton

Re: The 2014-15 Season SPFL Thread
SPFL Premiership Week 3 Preview
Celtic vs Dundee Utd: Celtic started the Season with a good 3-0 win over Scottish Cup winners St Johnstone, the result was probably somewhat flattering, every goal was aviodable, Celtic dominated possession and territory but didn't look like opening the Saints up until slack play allowed them in, Dundee Utd have started the Season brilliantly, devastating demolition of Aberdeen at Puttodrie followed up by a late but much deserved win against last Seasons runners up Motherwell at Tannidice, Celtic don't look comfortable under Ronny Diela yet, hardly any player looks like they're fully in tu e with what he's wanting, On the contrary, Dundee Utd look fully focused on the job at hand, all their players look comfortable and they're showing a real desire to buy I to Jackie McNamara's philosophy - Prediction: Celtic 1-2 Dundee Utd
Dundee vs Partick Thistle: Dundee have settled back into life in the top flight with two draws, they probably should ha e won their home game vs Kilmarnock and were a bit more fortunate against Inverness but they're showing signs that they'll be a strong team tough to beat, Paul Hartley has made a lot of changes to the squad that won the Championship last Season, it's bound to take time to bed in, I think they have some good quliity though, Partick are my dark horses to gate crash the top 6 this Season, they play some wonderful football and their destruction of Ross County midweek only strengrhend my belief they'll convert more chances this Season, last season they were well suited to playing away from home and got some great results, I think both these clubs will be in for a high finiah this year - Prediction: Dundee 2-2 Partick Thistle
Hamilton vs St Johnstone: Hamilton are my tips to finish bottom, that might be slightly harsh, they were excellent in their 2-0 win away to St Mirren midweek but I just feel over the course of the Seasontthey'll nit have enough, I also think their home form might hurt them, they seem more suited to hitting on the break and that tactic is quite difficult at home, St Johnstone are a team who are hapoy to ait and not go chasing a game, they're strong, hard to beat and always well organised, they wont panic if they dont get a goal and will juat continue to wear down the opposition - Prediction: Hamilton 0-2
Motherwell vs Inverness C.T Last years runners up against last years early front runners and League Cup finalists, both teams have guys capable of hitting 20+ goals a Season in John Sutton and Billy McKay, Motherwell haven't started the Season too well, knocked out of the Europa League by a team who'd be dping well to get out of the Scottish Championship then last week were extremely fortunate not to be 3/4 downat home to St Mirren before the Buddies capitulated and allowed the 'well to capitalise, in midweel they lost away to Dundee Utd, that was the norm last season anyway, they almost held out for a good draw but it wasn't to be, re-signing Henrik Ojamaa yesterday will be a big boost, ICT have started the season with 4 points from 2 games, good going, their consistency levels since coming back up in 2010 have been excellent, in McLay they have a preditor who'll always sniff out chsnces, Aaron Doran makes thrm tick though and Greame Shinnie their left back is one of the most consistent players in the SPFL, these games usually gaurantee goals and I think this will be no different -Prediction: Motherwell 3-1 Inverness C.T
Ross County vs Kilmarnock: County took an absolute hammering midweek onto of their home loss on the opening weekend of the Season, with an almost brand new team its always going to take time to settle in but they'll be desperate to get some points on the board as soon as possible, Kilmarnock are only a point better off after the first two games and despite a 2-0 reverse in midweek against AberdeenI actually felt Killie looked really good on occassions, tthey've got some exciting younger players at Rugby Park, I feel these two teams will be amongst 4 clubs fighting Relegation and thr RelegationPlay-Off spot come next May and ddon't think theres much between them at the moment, despite County's hammering on Wednesday they did produce some good moves, only good goalkeeping haulted their progress - Prediction: Ross County 2-1 Kilmarnock

Re: The 2014-15 Season SPFL Thread
Dundee Utd are about to report Hull City to Fifa as they have been almost a week late with the ifirst installment (£1.3m) for Andrew Robertson, bit if a joke that Hull are playing hardball here, obviously forgot what it feels like to live in the real world.

Re: The 2014-15 Season SPFL Thread
SPFL Premiership Week 4 Preview
Dundee Utd vs Ross County: United suffered an extrodinary set back last weekend at Celtic Park, having started the Season well no-one could have saw them ship six goals, Ross County have started the Season poorly too, another year another new team for Derek Adams though, they've lost all three of their games so far this Season and if they don't start picking up points soon they could leave themselves with an up hill struggle. I fancy Dundee Utd to bounce back rather emphatically tomorrow - Prediction: Dundee Utd 4-1 Ross County
Inverness C.T vs Celtic: Inverness lead the way early on for the Second consecutive Season, John Hughes has found it difficult trying to maintain the consistency shown under Terry Butcher while trying to implement a more patient style of football but with a striker like Billy McKay they'll always have a chance of a result, after a somewhat slow start under Ronny Deila, Celtic look to have found a bit of form, they're scoring a lot of goals while also making a lot of chances, they are susceptible to losing a goal on the break though, Celtic at this moment in time have bigger fish to fry than Inverness and the Premiership with Maribor due in town for the UCL Play-Off on Tuesday and I expect Deila to make a lot of changes ahead of that tie, I still expect Celtic to have more than enough to get a positive result though, particularly if Leigh Griffiths is up front. - Prediction: Inverness C.T 1-3 Celtic
Kilmarnock vs Motherwell: Killie have started the season better than many expected, a win a lose and a draw, the loss coming to Aberdeen, they can be pleased with that after two away games, many people tipped Kilmarnock to fight Relegation and while I think they may still be in the battle they've already got daylight between them and fellow Relegation contender Ross County (4 points) Motherwell haven't started well at all, one win and two loses, the one win they did muster they where extraordinarily lucky to get the 3 points that day, the best of the rest for the last three Seasons they'll have to start putting some results together if they want to maintain that accolade, I can see goals in this game, I'm thinking that Motherwell could get a win here but I'm leading towards the score draw. - Predictions: Kilmarnock 2-2 Motherwell
Partick Thistle vs Hamilton: Hamilton have been the surprise package of the Season so far, probably the bookies favourites for the automatic relegation spot, they've won 2 of their opening three matches and have played some very nice football as well, while they'll most likely still be many peoples favourites for the drop, they've shown that they'll fight for every point available to them and not many will get an easy three points off them, Thistle have 4 points from their opening two fixtures, scoring goals at home was a problem last Season but they've already won their first home game 4-0 this Season so they'll be confident of getting a few more here tomorrow - Prediction: Partick Thistle 2-1 Hamilton
St Mirren vs Dundee: The Buddies have struggled since the start of the Season, they were excellent in the opening day at Fir Park but inexplicably lost and then were absolutely woeful against Hamilton at home, they had a week off last week after Aberdeen were granted a weekend off after playing so much football in such little time, the week off might be exactly what they needed, they've added Adam Drury and Isaac Osbourne to their squad which should add more quality, Dundee have started life back in the top flight with three draws out of three, pretty solid if unspectacular start to the Season, they've strengthened their squad significantly over the Summer and probably should have more points on the board but they've looked strong and don't seem to know when they're beaten which is a good sign, I feel tomorrow will be much of the same, neither team really wants to lose this one and I feel the game will follow that train of thought. Predictions: St Mirren 1-1 Dundee
St Johnstone vs Aberdeen: St Johnstone have struggled since the loss of Stevie May, 27 goals last Season was always tough to replace, they've always been a hard working well prepared team though, they lost a game last week away to Hamilton that they've made a habit out of winning, those games were the type that saw the Saintees consistently finish in the top 6 and done so well in Cup runs recently, they've not got the same verve at the moment, Aberdeen after a good start to the season in Europe were annihilated at Pittodrie by Dundee Utd but bounced back brilliantly at Rugby Park last midweek, after having the last 10 days to rest and work on their team, I fully expect to see the Dons get a result here tomorrow - Predicitions: St Johnstone 0-2 Aberdeen
SPFL Championship Week 3 Preview
Hibernian vs Falkirk: I'm slightly surprised that Hibs are still so short in terms of first team personnel at this stage, they do play some better football under Stubbs than they did under Fenlon and definitely Butcher but for me the same old problems are still very evident, they can't score goals and don't seem to make enough chances for their front players, creativity in the final third is non existent, Falkirk on the otherhand play some brilliant football and have got plenty of creativity, their biggest fault is their finishing, if they could finish they would have taken 3 or 4 off Rangers last week, given the volume of goals they scored last Season though I'd be inclined to believe that was just an off night last week, I think the Bairns will take this one at Easter Road - Predictions: Hibernian 1-2 Falkirk
Raith Rovers vs Hearts: Match of the day in the Championship tomorrow for me, both Raith and Hearts have 100% records, both clubs have started the Season brilliantly, Hearts have beaten their two biggest rivals however got annihilated by Livingston midweek in the Petrofac Cup although that was their U19 team they used, the First Team Squad were rested completely for this fixture, this could go either way and with Osman Sow suspended then Hearts could find it tricky to score goals, I think like their previous two games of the Season though that the Jambos will sneak it - Prediction: Raith Rovers 0-1 Hearts
Rangers vs Dumbarton: Rangers have had a slow start to the Season, losing at home to Hearts then winning last week at Falkirk despite being absolutely battered for most of the game, they absolutely battered League Two side Clyde 8-1 on Monday though and while that should give them confidence, I still expect them to toil for large spells of this game, Dumbarton were one of the better sides in the Championship last Season and were unlucky to miss out on the Play-Off's, they've not started the Season well but they'll be hoping to get their Season off sooner rather than later. Prediciton: Rangers 3-0 Dumbarton
Re: The 2014-15 Season SPFL Thread
Another facinating weekend of SPFL Premiership football, the Aberdeen juggernaut continues, Celtic smashed their normal post European hangover to regain a slight gap between the top two, St Johnstone do a retake of their stunning 2-0 Scottish Cup Final win over Dundee Utd to get their top 6 prospects back on track, Rpss County's revival continues as the bottom 3 clubs are tied on level points as the fight to avoid the automatic Relegation and the Relegation Play-Off slot heats up. The SPFL also boasted the best attendance in British Football this weekend as Celtic hoasted Hamilton Accies.
