Re: Surrey vs Glamorgan Royal London Cup
Thanks for the thread jimbob.
Surrey 24/1 from 5.1 overs with Dilshan departing for 1, bowled by Wagg, but Davies looking fluent 17* from 13.
1.Roy
2.Dilshan
3.Davies
4.Solanki
5.Wilson (c)
6.Mahmood
7.Burns (wk)
8.Ansari
9.Meaker
10.van den Bergh
11.Edwards
Certainly an interesting side! Three keepers (or two these days) with Burns taking the gloves. Good to see Edwards and Burger Van get a chance

'The Burger Van' 10 overs for 43 when Glam chased down 307.
Clearly a different bowler to the one I watched bowl at the start of this summer...

Observations
Glamorgan are an impressive one day side, particularly batting.
Andrew Salter is a very handy cricketer especially in one day cricket.
I know he's probably better with the red ball but what has happened to James Harris ? Haven't seen him bowl well since he went to Middlesex although I'm sure he must have in some matches.
Almost any target is gettable in a one day match at Guildford.
Raw pace is not the way to go at Woodbridge Road because it goes a long way.
Freddie van den Bergh bowled nicely and outbowled Ansari and Dilshan, although maybe he bowled at a good time to bowl.
Surrey fought back well with the bat but the early wickets proved costly in the end. Losing Azhar just before the final push was crucial too.
Burns is perfectly capable of batting well in white ball cricket and is arguably the best keeper at the club.
Pleased to see Davies batting nicely. He's good to watch when in full flow. On the down side he's clearly finding it hard in the field, even betting without his terrible misfield to finish the match.
How were Surrey allowed to use a sub fielder for Jason Roy when he went off with a pre existing injury ? or did Surrey try to say he picked up another one ?
Surrey kept battling and obviously didn't want to lose but it looks a bit to me as if they will use the competition to have a look at some youngsters and concentrate on the Championship and T20, depending on Saturday's result of course.
