Who will win the four leagues 2014/15
To follow on from the thread Westy set up last year, predict the four champions of England and see how wrong we are come May.
I'll go for;
Premier League: Chelsea
Championship: Wigan
League One: Sheffield United
League Two: Southend

Premiership: Man City
Championship: Fulham
Lge 1: Doncaster
Lge 2: Portsmouth.
Prem is the easiest to predict i think.
Championship for example, I don't think anyone would have had Leicester to win it, especially the way they did.
League 1, was think maybe Barnsley, Sheff Utd, will be up there, Swindon maybe?
League 2, said Portsmouth, cos they ended well last season.
Big club and think they will carry on.
Tranmere could bounce back, Carlisle to.
Oxford may well be up there.
You never know with the other 3 divisions.

Re: Who will win the four leagues 2014/15
Since I don't watch lower division football and can't watch it in the states or while in ME, I will comment on the 4 leagues that I thought this thread was about.
Premier: Arsenal
La Liga: Barca
Bundesliga: Bayern
Serie A: Juve
As for the premier league I think most people are picking Chelsea and I can see why. The addition of a real striker and Fabregas have to make them heavy favorites. But can't let my gunner bias slide I think if Arsenal complete another good signing or two which seems to be in the cards they will have all the weapons to finish in the top 3. City haven't added much, Liverpool lost by far their best player, United should be better but haven't set the world alight so far in this transfer window. I can see this being a battle between Arsenal and Chelsea for the title. Nothing in the way we played Chelsea last year leaves me enthused that we could up end them. But if we can catch a bit of a break with injuries to key players and the young guys continue to develop we have the tools to win it.
Barca withe Neymar, Messi, and Suarez; that is just freaking sick. Bayern are so far ahead of the field same with Juve can't see any of the lesser teams upending them.

Re: Who will win the four leagues 2014/15
I've gone with a change in Serie A due to the loss of their manager, I just don't see the new manager working at all there.
Arsenal if they bring in Khedira certainly could be thereabouts come May, Quintero if they get him especially.

Don't think you'll find York winning the conference Dolph when they're in league two!

I admire Dolph's belief that Liverpool are heading out of the CL in the group stages. I suspect optimism on his part unless get a nightmare draw.

They'll be poorly seeded like City were initially so will probably get a bad draw so more than likely either of the Spanish giants, Bayern or Dortmund as seeded first.

Re: Who will win the four leagues 2014/15
Post World Cup years always throw up surprises with player fatigue etc.
Wouldn't be surprised to see bayern win bundesliga given there is no competition but can't see them winning cl.
Madrid could well be the first team to retain the cl.
Anyway I think Chelsea will win the pl- backed then last year but they made a balls of it after winning the big games. Better first 11 and squad now.
Can't comment on other leagues as don't really watch them but Wigan were excellent towards the end of the season.

Premier League - Chelsea
Bundesliga- Munich
La liga- I'd love to say Madrid, but I just feel we are going to collapse within ourselves, and imo, Barcelona is most likely gonna implode with three "main guys" trying to share the workload, without having improved their defence one jot. So I'm backing Atleti to repeat.
Serie A- can't see past Juve. That midfield is imperious.
Champion's league - Munich, think Pep will see where he went wrong, and get a bit of steel under that velvet glove.
As for the rest, don't know, but I stuck some money on Norwich winning the Championship, it will come to pass.

Interesting look back at some of these. Most of us went for Chelsea. A few of us were spectacularly wrong backing Wigan. Well done to Nando for being the only one to predict Bournemouth winning the Championship.

To change the title, who will now win the play offs.
Who I want, Brentford, Preston, Southend, Bristol Rovers.

3/5 in England and Sheffield United are in the playoffs. Looks like me and Freek were most successful but whilst one of my misses made the playoffs one of his were relegated.
Burton were the easiest pick from the Football League. They'd been challenging for promotion for years. It had to be their year.
Re: Who will win the four leagues 2014/15
I had a bet (£2 e/w - top 3 finish) on the following:
Prem - Chelsea
Champ - Derby
L1 - Preston
L2 - Shrewsbury
Only derby let me down on a getting a few penny's back!
