A question for SA fans
In 1921 there were 3 Morkels in the Bok touring side versus NZGerhard was the best player of his day.
Just as a matter of trivia are any other Morkels known to have played for SA sides since?

DFT Morkel 1906-1913 9
DJA Morkel 1903-1903 1
HJL Morkel 1921-1921 1
HW Morkel 1921-1921 2
JA Morkel 1921-1921 2
JWH Morkel 1912-1913 5
PG Morkel 1912-1921 8
PK Morkel 1928-1928 1
WH Morkel 1910-1921 9
WS Morkel 1906-1906 4
According to scrum.com (http://stats.espnscrum.com/statsguru/rugby/stats/index.html?class=1;orderby=player;page=9;team=5;template=results;type=player).
Apparently Pieter Morkel played one game against the touring All Blacks, on the wing, in Capetown. Think he might have played for WP (He played against the touring Lions in '24 for WP universities). He's the last of the famous Morkel family.
This might be of some help (http://family.morkel.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/rugby-morkels-small1.pdf)

Re: A question for SA fans
when looking into it I found out surprisingly that only 8 bothas have ever represented the boks. Amazing given the name popularity amongst the boere and more so given that 4 of those 8 were first capped less then 12 years ago.
Very bizarre though that Morkels are 3rd on the most numerous list with 10 behind Du Plessis & van der Merwe (both 11) yet haven't had another cap since the 20s.

Not sure. I have to admit I stopped following cricket over 20 years ago. Good question though.
