Brilliant signing from United young player with some experience who will last at the club for a long time. Exactly what they needed.

Re: united to sign de gea
As long as he doesn't let his first error get to him (every keeper will make them) he'll be worth the money

It'll be a whole new ball game in the UK with high balls pumped in frequently

A sound long term purchase I'm sure. I hope he can handle the pressure though - he'll have lots of it if the price tag is as high as said.
Kusczack looks like he's on the way out now, so I'm guessing they'll be back in for a reserve keeper from somewhere.

I doubt it Sodhat.
De Gea will most likely be the number one with Lindergaard providing back up. Ben Amos will be promoted to third choice if he doesn't go out on loan. Quite the pool of impressive young keepers.

I had forgotten about Lindegaard Sainty. I wonder why he was not called upon to deputise for VDS when required at the end of the season?
Is he injured? I would have thought with Kusczack leaving it would have made sense to use the man who was bought in January and who will be number 2.

Quality signing I am excited about De Gea playing for us. At £17million I think he is value for money and if all goes well can be our number 1 for a potential 10-15 years.

Re: united to sign de gea
As well for the high balls, no doubt that will all be entailed into the keeper training. Whenever they re training before matches, it's all they seem to practise, so can't see that being an issue!

Yeah he was, can't recall what the problem was but he was out with an injury.

Re: united to sign de gea
The De Gea people are now saying this is NOT a done deal - maybe looking to bump up the price in case the deal falls thru and they go elsewhere.

Atletico are also stating the same.
De Gea has a buy out clause of £22.5 mil, they're probably pushing for that.

Re: united to sign de gea
It was said that United had offered a heap of money in add ons as well as the the original price.
I hope he signs, he is a cracking keeper. Like Sainty said his issue with the high balls into the box will obviously have been noticed and will get worked on in training.

I think United would have been better going for a more experienced goalkeper. McGregor would have been a better signing imo.

I think he's had enough experience and Man U have got a keeper that can stay with them for 10 years now. Can't wait to watch him in the U21 Euros next week, he'll be 1st choice and will have a lot of people watching him.

Re: united to sign de gea
De Gea has only just completed his 2nd full season at a team that float around just outside the Champions league places in their league. He has made a lot of mistakes this season but is undoubtedly a very talented keeper.
