PATHETIC, RUBBISH, EMBARRASSMENTS !!!!!!
Right, that is it, I will not be wasting anymore money down at the capital anymore, I have gone to two home games this season and I have not even seen a try from the Blues, they are woeful, what the feck is the point at playing your best back, Patchell, at fullback ? Cardiff blues have now played over 160mins of rugby and they have not scored or looked like scoring a try, they have some of the best players in Wales at their disposal and they are playing rubbish, more mid table mediocrity for the Cardiff Blues this season I reckon.

Re: PATHETIC, RUBBISH, EMBARRASSMENTS !!!!!!
I thought they played some nice rugby on friday but lacked just a smidgen more of the sharpness needed to break through what is one of the best defences in the league. Ulster (my team by the way) were flattered by the scoreline due to the oppotunism of iHump and his interception. It was an entertaining game of rugby and I really believe the Blues are on an upward curve playing some attractive rugby. Our pack had the upper hand all evening even if the breakdown was a lottery at times and with that dominance it could have been a much bigger score. It was error strewn from both sides but I really do think had Patchell been at 10 and Warburton hadn't been sitting in the soft seats it could have been a different story. Remember that was a full strength Ulster side.

Give it some time LordDowlais, we've gone several seasons with mediocre/terrible coaching, we now finally have a decent coach and made some signings, things are going to take a bit longer to gel. Its an entire culture shift down at the Blues under Hammett.

Don't give up yet. I feel much the same as you. I took my nephew to try and get him in to rugby and with 20 mins left he wanted to leave as we are "not very good at this game". Picking Patch at 10 does nothing for us, we need to be able to break the lines at center. For that to happen we need better centers. We have a month until our next home game (Grenoble). Let's hope that Hammer learns something about the team in the next few weeks.

I think the Blues were unlucky to have such a short turnaround and it showed, particularly in the forwards, why the coach didn't rotate more is beyond me, friday game would have been a great opportunity to start guys like Cook, Ieuan Jones, Mitchell, Reed..

Mitchell and Jenkins were both walking around before the game. They both looked fit. Unsure if they're injured or not.

Team Wales is probably why. Jamie Roberts ring a bell? Cracking FB for the Rags. Saying that we had Ben Blair at the time and he was marvelous. Better than Mike Rayer some would suggest.

I thought it was more to do with accommodating Anscombe to be honest, and I would suggest you wash your mouth out naughty boy, no one, and I repeat, NO ONE, was or will be, better than Mike Rayer, his two finger victory salute to the camera in the peeing down rain as he scored against Scotland which helped us win our first five nations in years is testament to that.

All I can say is - try being an Edinburgh fan. At least the blues looked like they wanted to be on the pitch, had met each other beforehand and could tackle now and then.

If they could play like that too in the Euro cup it would be appreciated as they are in London Irish's group and it would be nice to progress this year after narrowly losing out last year.

Re: PATHETIC, RUBBISH, EMBARRASSMENTS !!!!!!
They weren't that bad. They created some really good chances against Ulster, but butchered them with poor hands. The game itself was highly physical and fast and while both sides wanted to play with lots of tempo, neither back line exercised much control over play and the error count was high.
I definitely see signs of improvement, but before the season began people were saying Blues would be in the playoffs and would be potential champions. Well maybe they will be, but that level of improvement is just never going to happen over night. Feel like expectations for the Blues are very high. They've just played two of the best sides in the league. I know it probably sounds patronising coming from me as an Ulster fan, but patience is needed.

On the other point, that shootout was a bit of a disgrace. Rugby matches, especially playoff matches, should never end that way. Only by playing Rugby, not silly gimmicks. I hope Martyn Williams doesn't think about it too much. Was such a terrific player and I can't see how any blame should be attached to him.

An absolute shocking attempt though. Ditto Tom James. I'll remind both if I see either. Bet they get reminded all the time mind ewe and we can laugh about it now anyway. Great drama though and an experience never to be forgotten.
