Ronaldo can try all he wants but he'll never come close to Beckham, yes ability wise Ronaldo is better but Beckham was United he didn't want to leave.

Yeah, Beckham was far from a bad player but Ronaldo is an ATG at this point. Best player to play in the PL hands down.

The Indpendent released a "100 Greatest PL Players" list today. I'd agree with

NUMBER 1 REVEALED:

as, for me, greatest doesn't equal best. If it was best, I'd give it to Ronaldo. I'm also peeved at Kompany being higher than Vidic (and Ferdinand being higher than both).

What Ronaldo has done after he left United should have no bearing on a United Xi. Beckham all day for me, like TSJ said greatest doesn't mean the best. Beckham for me is a United legend Ronaldo not so much.

Yes it is but Beckham was unwanted because of his lifestyle not ability and Beckhams is way better looking so that counters the factor Sir Alex wanted Ronaldo an extra year.

I'm not saying Beckham is a better Footballer but he would make my United greatest Xi over Ronaldo any day.

Am I the only one that doesn't rate Kompany as highly as others do? He is a good leader, Captain and a good player but the quality of defenders had dipped over the last 15 years. kompany is not on Ferdinands level, or John Terry, Campbell, Vidic. Defending is a dying art.

I'd agree to a point. Kompany is very good. But he does lack that commanding factor the names you listed possess for me. I don't me commanding as in leadership via the captaincy, as in he will dominate the opposition forward and the 18 yard line as his area to stop you going through. Skrtel is approaching this level for me at the moment.

The only other that might come close is Cahill, but he is supposedly in his prime now.

To be honest, I value Ronaldo's 66 goals in 3 seasons off the wing and being the driving force behind 3 PL trophies and 1 CL trophy higher than anything Beckham did at United.

I think about my players and keep thinking that I have left out Vieira, Makele, Giggs, Ferdinand.

Shearer tends to be over looked when people do a premier league Xi, Adams I personally wouldn't pick, there's Ferdinand, Vidic Terry, Stam who I'd prefer.
