Just like the olympics. Some get multiple others get nothing
How simple to spread it out and have it once you get one allocation yoy drop down the order until everyone has a chance

I go no tickets from the 'public' application but was fortunate to get tickets via my club membership prior to this - including the England v Oz game. It seems the pain of watching LI for the last few years paid off

Re: World cup tickets - Notification on Saturday
Went for 2 tickets for both the leeds games - italy canada on sat and scotland usa on sunday. Only got the italy canada game....... Not sure what to do now. That was meant to be the 'extra' game to make a weekend of it down there. To go or not to go that is the question.....

My mams Scottish so yes I'll be cheering for them. Besides most English people think Newcastle is a small town in Scotland anyway.
Most of my mates got no tickets so I think I've been hugely lucky to get what I did.

Just add I wonder if there are unsold tickets in the more expensive categories which will go on resale?

Newbie here. Just got the results of my application. Applied for 4 matches - got nowt. Newspapers back in September predicting that there would be a huge problem as, unlike in the Olympics, there is no legislation in place to stop touts buying and reselling. Hope it's not true and just genuine fans who've got the tickets

Will be even more gutting if the touts have taken all the tickets

Greetings Pete.
And sadly a quick look on viagogo & stub hub shows loads of world cup listings.
Although they surely can't be genuine
Re: World cup tickets - Notification on Saturday
Another thing that's really peed me off about the ticketing thing is the way the organisers have hoarded loads of tickets so their official travel partners can lay on over priced 'tour' packages.
Eg, England rugby Travel, for £159.99 will sell you a package for the Scotland V Japan game in Gloucster. This includes a £20 Catogery D match ticket, and a bus, but only from London, Reading or Swindon.
A big Frak you to anyone who A doesn't want to pay almost 8 times face value or who doesn't live in London or the surrounding areas

Re: World cup tickets - Notification on Saturday
I applied for:
- Eng v Wal
- Eng v Wal
- Sam v USA
- SA V Jap
- QF1
- QF4
- Final
Was successful for one game.... the final! It's the cheap sits, but still! If England manage to make it to the final that would be incredible! Anyone know the odds of England getting to the final?

Re: World cup tickets - Notification on Saturday
I picked up 2 x NZ v Geo, 2 x NZ v Tonga and 2 x WC Final tickets (all cat D) in the club allocation...went in for two more each in the Geo/Tonga games so I could take my wife and youngest son to those but haven't had an email as yet. Assume it's the worst but clearly my situation isn't dire compared to others on here.

Not a bad haul.
Also, never mind about the email, log into the site and you'll see if you've got your applications.

Bit unsure GLove - the tickets I applied for this time around are still under My Applications with a status of 'Saved' but with the date I entered (September). Does anyone else have this?

How strange, not sure what a successful one would look like mind you! Mine reads "Application Status: Unsuccessful on October 23, 2014"
Then it lists all the games I applied for with a huge red cross next to each one

Re: World cup tickets - Notification on Saturday
For anyone who has Google mail or similar, my email came into my Promotions inbox rather than my regular inbox.
I'm a bit gutted and confused. I applied for 5 matches two of which I didn't even think we're going to ballot.
The email just said 'your application was unsuccessful'. I thought 'what? None of the five? '. It seemed too much like a blanket statement.
Surely it wouldn't have been an all or nothing approach??
I thought I'd get a response that woulds say 'here are the games you were successful with, and these are the games you werent! '

Re: World cup tickets - Notification on Saturday
Question - If the match did not go to ballot, did the tickets just not get sold?
Was this ONLY for ballots. So if a game did NOT oversubscribe, the tickets weren't given and the full match gets opened up for sale at a later date with those who applied getting a priority run at it???
Please tell me it's so.
Also, is there a list of which games went to ballot and which didn't.
An hour before it closed, three of the games I applied for had still not gone to ballot. Which is why I was confused to be told I was unsuccessful....
