Degale...Say Something!
First topic message reminder :
I am very surprised Degale has not said anything yet to the media. I know it must of hit him hard but its a close loss and one which he shouldnt let dishearten him. I do not like his personality in the run up to the fight and like everyone else wanted him to lose. But he has talent. I think he can bounce back and we may see a great return fight in a few years. But he needs to say something. Mcdonnel hasn't even bothered too which just stinks of sore loser. Especially for a trainer, usually they are able to hold up their head. Maybe after the 20k bet nonsense he feels stupid too, he should.
Degale can also wint he British public round if he plays this right. We will sympathise with him more if he just says 'ok, i lost, il beat him next time' I hope he gives some form of interview soon. Because he could not look more sulky and pathetic than he and his camp did after Saturday.
Come on Degale, say something!

Re: Degale...Say Something!
i love how one post on here gets a article back up to the top. I agree with you Rowley, degale insinuating Groves is not allowed to win on the back foot is ridiculous. Just like him banging on about being the champ was, Degale had the British belt, didnt Groves have the commonwealth. Its not like Degale had unified at world level is it?

It is Degales inability to take his medicine, say 'yeah i lost il get him next time' and move on that is making it worse for him now

Re: Degale...Say Something!
The article in summary
Degale - I won
Degale - Groves cheated by not standing in front of me and letting me knock him out.
The end

Anyone think the reporter looks stupid after reading this?

Why doesn't the reporter say 'well actually, quite a few people thought you lost the fight'. Back him up a bit, point out a few facts. Just seemed the reporter was agreeing with everything he said with his line of questioning. Poor journalism in my opinion.

Re: Degale...Say Something!
Yeah maybe Sean but Degale is a Sky fighter and they have already invested a lot of money in him and will probably invest plenty more in getting him back on track, will probably have one eye on trying to build interest in a very lucrative rematch at some point. Given this is probably to be expected he ain't going to go all Paxman on him.

Re: Degale...Say Something!
Think DeGale learnt a few things from that fight
- Not to go OTT in the pre fight hype
- Its better to have the fans support you then on your back
- Not to put full power in every shot and let his hands when his within range against a boxer on the back foot.

Well we don't know if he has learnt it yet, do we.
Judging by his words in that interview, he has learnt very little.

Re: Degale...Say Something!
also jim mcdonell complaining about Adam Booths behaviour and the w sign after the fight was hilarious. Ok Jim so you can heckle in a press conference, run round the back of the seat and try goade him into a 20k bet and he is the one bringing the sport into disrepute. The PR part of the Degale show is a calamity

Second this. From what I've read from Degale since the loss it seems like he's learned absolutely diddly.

It just does his standing in the public eye zero favours, and if he genuinely believes the things he's been saying since the fight, he's only deceiving himself.

I'm all for confidence and belief in one's self, but arrogance and cockiness i can't stand. Especiallly at his age where he thinks he leaves the hood to go to train everyday, he needs to grow up.
Ha ha yes, if only Naseem Hamed had run into a Groves equivalent early in his career, we might have been spared his odious posturing too! But at least he had the occasional witty comment. De Gale appears to have the humour of a twelve year old
You would say that...your breath smells and you're uuuuugly...
