VW considering entering F1
It was in the news that VW group were considering entering F1. I'd quite like to see more engine companies entering F1... Would they enter as Audi? I'd enjoy seeing BMW mercedes audi honda toyota etc battling each other

It won't happen just now. The VW boss does not get on with Bernie Ecclestone and who can blame him. It is thought that until Bernie goes or VW get a new boss this won't happen.

Will be a good 10 years then atleast.
Bernie won't leave F1 til he is in a box weather people like it or not and the VW guy been there 30 years. So it's VW guy quits or Bernie in a box

I know some people who know some people who could arrange that...
In other news Anthony Hamilton is having a go at being a F1 designer. He has developed (or helped develop) a new gadget, dubbed the Info Wing...basically a new aero device that sits on the airbox, where one of the camera mounts normally is. It features LED arrays on the sides, which could be used to display various bits of info, such as the driver name, position and tyre type.
Not sure how useful it would be really, either for trackside or TV viewers.

I posted this for the Abu Dhabi test, don't see the point of it really. It might help the clueless casual fan, but for fans who know what's happening & know the rules, then it's pretty pointless in my opinion.

I think this is the way forward for the sport to have more car manufactures enter the sport. It would be good for development and competition.
If Volkswagen did come into the sport it would be interesting to see if they used that brand or something like Bugatti, Audi, Lamboghini, Porsche etc

It appears the VW board has shafted the guy who hates Bernie and now close to a move in F1 in 2018

Hmm now that would be very interesting. However, I will believe it when I see it and success would not be immediate - if at all.

It would seem that VW have no interest in entering F1.

Well, they certainly weren't going to while Piech was in charge...although Bernie said in an interview that he would be willing to step aside if it meant VW coming on board .
Martin Winterkorn might have different ideas. I could see VW getting involved via one of their other brands...Bentley or Lamborghini...would love to see that. I think Porsche and Audi are already too heavily invested in DTM, Le Mans and other series to want to risk the murky, treacherous waters of F1.
Regardless, nothing's likely to happen for at least another couple of years.
