Darren Morgan entering Q School?
Former Irish Masters champion Darren Morgan plans to enter the Q School in May.
Welshman Morgan's career highlights include winning the World Amateur Championship, reaching the semi-finals at the Crucible, getting to eighth in the world rankings and captaining Wales to Nations Cup success.
But the 44-year-old still believes there is gas in the tank and hopes to achieve a dream to walk out at the Crucible one more time.
"It's not 100 per cent that I will enter the Q School at the minute, but it is about 95 per cent," Morgan told the South Wales Echo. "I have started winning these Masters (seniors) events again. I don't practise a lot, but when I do take my cue out, the biggest surprise to me is that my game is still intact.
"If I went back, it would be only for a bit of fun because the top boys like Mark Williams and Ronnie O'Sullivan are something special.
"Nigel Bond is a good friend of mine and there was nobody more pleased than me when he won the one-frame Shoot-Out. He asked me earlier in the year 'why are you playing in these Masters events, you should be on the pro tour' and a few others have said the same.
"So if enough people keep telling you, then it makes you think, maybe I was a little bit impetuous to give it up. My wife has given me her backing, and my eldest child wants me to go back. I just need to be able to practise again for a couple of hours each day, otherwise it would not be worth it."

Re: Darren Morgan entering Q School?
He’s certainly doing well in the Masters events, which is something I’m trying to find the time to practice for & enter. He was always a hard nut to crack Darren Morgan. I’d like to see him make a go of it & to do well too. Good Luck to the fella.
