WWA Spotlight Season 8 Empty WWA Spotlight Season 8

Post by Fernando Tue 23 Dec 2014, 11:07 pm

Coming away from the typical media questions, we wanted to do something unique to engage everybody and to keep the conversations and topics going. Here's what we have come up with, WWA: Spotlight Podcast, each week a different promotion will go under the spotlight where other GM's can ask as many questions as they want regarding storylines, wrestlers, angles etc... about the promotion under the spotlight. Questions can be submitted from Monday with the expiry date on the following Sunday, The GM has until Sunday 23:59 to respond/answer the question in order to win money for their promotion

Every promotion will be included with a random draw determining what order we go in. This is optional so if you don't want to participate you don't have to  OK

The Promotion featured in each week will be the following...

Week 1: Uryu
Week 2: Twist
Week 3: Enigma
Week 4: Viper
PPV 1: Gregers
Week 5: CJB
Week 6: BeyBlader
Week 7: Thunder

Prize Money
If you answer 4 Question - You receive £5 Million
If you answer 8+ Questions - You receive £10 Million

Once you have answered the questions, WWA Management will confirm your price fee, You will then have to confirm the price money you are eligible for by confirming in the transfer confirmation page.

QUESTIONS FOR URYU:

1. With the first show nearly here what can we expect from your eclectic roster?
2. Who were you happy with in your starting roster/who were you happy to get?
3. If you could take anyone from someone else's roster without needing to trade who would it be and why?

4. What one match would you like to see in Triple X Wrestling?

5. If you can, without giving away storylines (but with more info than "I like them), why were you so intent to keeping Golddust and Jeff Hardy?

1: With my roster having a touch of everything I feel you can expect balanced, top quality shows week in and week out.
2: Yes and no, I unfortunately have no interest in divas this season but the quality I started with helped out a lot.
3: y2j or cesaro
4: chuck taylor v cesaro
5: Goldust has the unique aura around him that makes him great for SDF ( that n i've always liked him ), Jeff has an important role to play in SDF

QUESTIONS FOR TWIST!

1. If you were able to get anyone without having to buy them who would you add to the TNT roster.
2. Given that you are a massive Vader fan, was it hard to give someone else the title?
3. After seeing the first week of shows, who would you say is your biggest competition?
4. Who on the XXX Roster would you like to see in a match?

Cheers for the questions guys.

1. You can answer this in two parts really. The guy I wanted that I think would enhance my roster would have been Sting. To pair him with Vader again would have been cool. Guy I wanted, and could still get, that would be a more fun choice would have been Jesse Ventura. Maybe would have paired him with Rude. Ventura was under rated. His promos in the 80's were so funny.

2. Not really. In the T-League I had Vader win a Super Heavyweight title, but I understand he won't be viewed main event enough. You want headliners people want to see. As a wrestler, I think he was one of, if not the, best of the big guys. But wrestling has moved on now that he won't be looked at so favorably.

3. For show quality and for making me want to come back and read more, I would say Jai and Enigma shows were very good.

4. Tough question. Bearing in mind what you have said about one Briscoe brother being better than the other (at least with titles won), I would like a story where Mark gets jealous of this being mentioned all the time.

5. Not sure I understand the question mate, are you asking to give away what I have planned?! Laugh

To be honest my main event for that 2nd PPV is still up to debate. I want to see what you guys think of the build up first. I would have loved Sting v Michaels or Rock. But that's a hard main event to get.

6. Your roster is ticks all your boxes so is a hard choice. Personally I would like to see Billy Kidman v X-Pac and HHH v Scott Hall.

7. For no other reason really apart from I am a big fan, the guy I wanted was Vader. Not prepared to pay silly money for him, but I did manage to get him.

Ok so the rest of Enigmas questions....

9) Greatest weakness would be I am not uptodate with the current wrestlers. I tend to keep to the eras I know of.

10) Pretty much. I have long term stories in place up and down the card.

11) Not especially. I would rather be unique and create storylines that haven't been done between wrestlers but should still work.

13) Jeff Hardy. I think he would be great in my Dynamite division

15) Yes I would. I could not team with someone obsessed with the indies but I would definitely teamed with Jai this season. His idea is something I would do.

16) Can't really answer that as not been keeping up to date with each season.

1. You always seem to do really well when it comes to votes, what do you put this down to?
Honestly, I don't really know. I like to put together a show that focuses on character development and layers in storylines whether that being in
the mid-card all the way through to the main event and it's something that sadly no current wrestling promotion does anymore. I guess that there must be something or a couple of things that appeal to the WWA audience if they like to vote for my show.

2. If budget/trading wasn't an issue, who would you put in your roster right now?
Brock Lesnar. Without question the best wrestler in the world right about now.

3. Did you get all of your targets, if not, who did you really want?
William Regal, but I had options B & C in place that didn't work out. I actually ended up getting B & C so things worked out fine.

4. What match in XXX would you really like to see?
Kings of Strong Styles is it? The new team you put together? Them against KOW.

5. What is your favorite season of nXtreme and why?
Legends / Legacy Season. Ultimate fantasy booking scenario really.

6. Are there any storylines done in wwa that you wish you'd done?
Jai / OPAL's current 'Retro' theme is a really great idea if executed correctly, it's a real good idea though.

7. favourite feud done in wwa? (Not including your own)
I'm going to try and change the question here. I'm going to answer if what best sticks out in my mind. First would have to be the rise of Tommaso Ciampa by Sainty who I believe is now DP on here. He built him up as a credible heel monster and never saw the ending of his final show when he defeated Shawn Michaels for the top belt. The other would have to be the Suicide / Lita storyline. In all honesty, everybody involved that season kept guessing and nobody came close!

8. How do you see TNT doing this season after looking at the first two shows?
In all honesty, Top 3 maybe Top 2 come end of the season. Impressed me how well you have quickly returned to WWA. I actually remember your shows from Season 3? Didn't you double book HBK in two matches on the same PPV? I recall it being an excellent PPV but you seemed to get marked down because he was involved in two different matches.

9. Have you got any more targets for foreigns and could we see big names?
Foreign Targets, not really I can't afford them. I'm looking to shake things up after the first PPV so 1 or 2 big names could make their way to NGPW.

1. I have a few targets but not too much of a shake up.
2. I'd say this season could be between TNT, OPAL and my personal favourites NGPW
3. Probably not...I'm not really in this to win...more to have fun and hopefully write some fun shows.

1. Of course you can, the idea for the season is great and the first two shows were obviously well received.
2. When I started my main goal was to get Johnny Gargano and Ricochet and I got one of them. Now Ricochet isn't really needed for my show.
3. I have the ending pretty much 100% booked...it's just a case of getting there!

Q. This season seems to be heavily focused around Johnny Gargano & Jim Cornette, can you provide any hints or tips on who could perhaps play a role in stopping Gargano as the #1 face or who could step up into the main event scene?

Q. It's obvious to see that PWG plays a big role in the influence of your roster and season theme. Are there any other promotions out there that could inspire you for future seasons?

Q. So far during your WWA career you have always worked solo. Past or Present, which WWA members could you see yourself working with and who would you like to work with?

Q. Which storyline in NGPW has you most invested, which match would you like to see happen on a weekly NGPW show?

1. I think there are a couple of guys who could become the "number one guy" but I'm trying to get away from the whole heel/face thing...yes, Cornette and Regal are doing bad things but it's mainly so that they can get the full time job role that the XXX board are being offered to them. I think as the season continues i will try to make Gargano less of an obvious face as he realises that his spot in under threat due to him not joining Cornette.

2. As we spoke about before I've loved the idea of a Chikara style season but I assume that would go down even worse than this season.

3. In the past I'd spoken to Thunder about working together as he's obviously always has time constraints but I think a joint season would be awesome...next season I already have stuff kind of planned but if WWA continues then I think XXX will one day have to join forces to reach a more global market haha

4. So far I think the British Embassy is the stand out storyline for me personally as it's helping bring smaller guys like Zack Sabre Jr to a big storyline. I like how the stable also is involved all up and down the card. As for a match I'm actually looking forward to Devitt v Neville.

QUESTIONS FOR GREGGERS:

1. How do you think your season has gone so far? Biggest hit/Biggest miss?
2. If you could have anyone on your roster without having to trade for them or without buying them who would it be?
3. How do you feel the season has gone down with us "the fans"?
4. Which match would you like to see in XXX?

WWA Spotlight Season 8 Empty Re: WWA Spotlight Season 8

1) Biggest hit has probably been the JBL storyline, was worried that no one would fine it funny or interesting so that's been good, also the Sabin storyline is one I've been wanting to do for a while. Biggest miss? I think I'm now realising that my roster is quite midcard heavy which could have been remedied early on

2) From an original plan point of view I wanted Marty Scurrl who would have been involved in the Riley/Spud/Clem storyline. Right of this minute I'd love to have bought in Shelley and Christian in order to use them in the continuing Sabin storyline.

3) Better than expected if I'm honest. I have been shocked that I have beaten anyone this season based on the "quality" of my roster. The "fans" that have enjoyed the little digs at WWE have been a particular highlight.

4) My joy in your roster is that I don't know a huge amount about a lot of your roster, therefore you could push anyone to your title which is something I'd like to see. On the flip side bringing in someone so "non-indie" would be great to try and combat your focus. An Austin or someone like that?

nXtreme Questions.

5. Have there been any storylines this season that never took off due to not getting the correct targets or changing plans, if so can you discuss what/why?

6. Do you have any plans heading into the new WWA Season 9 Season?

7. Reflecting back on the NGPW vs nXtreme War, how did you find working with Engima and and the process of booking weekly shows?

8. It's no secret that you are a great story teller when writing matches... What promotions/angles/matches influence you when attempting to tell the story?

1. WWR started half way through the season, will it continue in to Season 9?
2. What did you think of the roster you had been given?
3. If you could have any TWO wrestlers without having to bid for them...who would you pick?

4. Triple X has become famous for being the "indie" fed...has it got you interested in checking out any of the roster?

1. WWR will be returning next season unless rules change and I can use Wrestlers as Batman characters, as I don't see that happening any time soon, yes.

2. I was given the choice of ASWF and Jai's retro years, I could do nothing with the retro years, the attitude era is over and it ain't coming back, not for love or money. The ASWF roster was great, a few trades had been made that I wouldn't have made but, that's the way it goes. I felt the roster was strong and great starting point for what I had in mind.

3. In all honesty, with my current plans running the way they are, there are only two guys that come to mind that I would like to have had that I don't have, Mick Foley and Steven Richards. Foley would be in Austins shoes and Richards would be filling a spot yet to come.

4. In all honesty, no. Most of the ones that you have me interested in, I already knew eg. Super Dragon. Will admit that Dragon in the face role gives him a very Batmanesque feel and maybe something to consider if I can ever do Gotham City Wrestling.

Q. Honestly, you seem to have hit the ground running following your return. What differences have you made based around booking your shows this time around and will you be bringing them into next season?

Q. If you had to team up with somebody, who would you choose and why?

Q. In your time in WWA, what has been your favourite moment and favourite storyline (Can't choose your own)

1. Not trying to do a theme really. Everything up to now, seemed to have a theme, TWA was centered around Greek stuff, GOW was a parody of Game of Thrones. Having an awesome roster to begin with helps, I saw who I had and ideas just started to run, even though the road block of issues with Foley came up, it was instantly replaced with Austin. Another thing that helped was knowing from past seasons what I do well, maybe better than others, tag division. Last time I was here I got a lot of praise for my strong tag division which I wanted to expand on. Also, wanting to start something that can and will carry on in future season helped.

2. Umm, now your asking, the obvious one is Viper cause we're friends but, at the same time we like different things with wrestling but, maybe the styles would mesh. I think, I'd have to go with Nando 'cause he writes incredible matches which is where I fall down a little or get board.

3. SWORD ticked my funny bone a few season's back as for storyline the iNvasion angle between Nxtreme and NPGW? was pretty cool.
