Cilic Out of Australian Open
Sad to see Marin Cilic has been forced to withdraw from the Australian Open with a shoulder injury and of course Jo Wilifrid Tsonga is already out. Two potential dark horses miss out then but it means Britain's James Ward qualifies for the Australian Open and will not need to qualify.

No Tsonga and no Cilic means the 4th round clashes, which I think are the best ones in a slam will be much less interesting. Its a big loss

Yes I would certainly agree there. Cilic (for me) more of a loss as Tsonga has toiled of late and often flatters to deceive.

Definitely. If rankings stay as-is, then Robredo and Isner will be replacing them in that group of seeds. Both could cause problems but neither have a chance going really deep, much as I like Tommy.
Full list looks pretty uninspired:
Ferrer
Dimi
Gulbis
Lopez
Bautista-Agut
Anderson
Robredo
Isner

Cant say I imagine them causing any problems or late night thrillers myself either. Dimi and Gulbis maybe, if they turn up mentally...

Who said he was ??? far from it that is the problem.
How I wish his God given talent had been awarded to someone who deserved it more. Someone with a work ethic, a mindset that could have put it to good use.
Then we may well have had a worthy challenger for the No.1. spot.
But he is mentally a part time tennis professional.. and it so me
Lazy and unprofessional and with no respect for the sport or his fellow professionals; a sport that desperately needs his talent at the moment and one which he could excel at. That in a nutshell is my grievance with him
