Haymon's first NBC card
Being announced later today, but fights look like being:
Robert Guerrero vs Keith Thurman
Adrien Broner v John Molina
Not bad.
Haymon is an incredibly divisive figure over here. Here's hoping he puts on good cards and doesn't hurt the sport like he did in 2014.
Thoughts?

Re: Haymon's first NBC card
The Thurman fight should be entertaining but picking Molina is cynical matchmaking, he's damaged goods and won't be a threat to the bigger Broner but he's a name so fits the bill.

Re: Haymon's first NBC card
Better than I was expecting but this is the launch card for NBC.
My instinct tells me that Haymon won't match his top fighters against each other.
I believe talks are in the works with Haymon for Matchroom to set up a conveyor belt of British fighters looking to attain "life changing money".

Re: Haymon's first NBC card
Is Matthysse with Haymon? If so I'm guessing he's hoping Molina's gonna fight like Garcia did in his first fight back after Matthysse. This will lead to Broner beating Molina more impressively than Lucas did, hyping a matchup between the two. Then Haymon can cash in on Broner's mouth dragging in viewers to watch Matthysse end his career.

Re: Haymon's first NBC card
Good on Haymon but if it wasn't on showtime/hbo it wouldn't be a big card just a decent one but as it's free to air it deserves more credit, a bit like how channel 5 had bigger audiences then sky sports even if the cards were usually degale fighting in some leisure centre against a nobody
Thurman v Guerrero is a good fight but thurman should prevail easily enough. I like guerrero but at 135, not 147 he's a lot slower and gets tagged a lot he's lucky he has a great chin and great stamina but thurman is a serious puncher and take the chances he took against the japanese guy, berto or aydin he'll regret it
Molina was a decent slugger and has good power, but he's been on a couple hidings now especially the matthysse fight where he ended up gettting beaten to a pulp and was beaten comfortably by another lightweight in Soto last time out. That said he does have power and probably is as good as Taylor or gave Broner problems
Like Garcia v Peterson just coz it'll be fun and Danny had an absolutely shocking 2014 so can't get much worse. Needs a bit of rebuilding esepcailly given the hype around him after matthysse has completely gone and nbc is a good platform to do it on
Expect a good year from haymon but his stable is a bit thin if he's not going to work with any of the american companies like GB and TR

I can just see Eddie eye'ing up further opportunities for Brian Rose.
If Haymon won't match his fighters against each other and refuses to work with GBP, TR and Roc then there will be opportunities for the non-American promoters.

Haymon is trying to strike deals with Di Bella and Gooson entertainment, given the chance I wouldn't put it past him working with Roc Nation either.

I've now seen two different photos of a man whose name I've heard/read a million times. Kaiser Sose.

Great news, big time boxing back on free to air tv. The headliners picking up 7 figure paydays. Haymon apparently having access to 150 fighters, it really needs the audiences to get the advertising working.

Fun fights. If these bouts are made and Floyd/many agreed then Khan surely has to fight Brook?

I think he has beef with Jay Z. Something about when he was involved with Beyonce's career. Hope I am wrong as another divide would be annoying as hell.

Yeh, wasn't it Al Haymon that convinced 'Kid Chocolate' to duck Koborov and a career high payday because he wouldn't work with Roc Nation??

Yep
Thurman to turn down $6 mill for 3 fights, too. He wants them all on his NBC shows.
