Is an Aussie quartet of say Mitchell Johnson, Josh Hazlewood, Pat Cummins and Ryan Harris better the quartet of pace bowlers whom the West Indies could have played during the 1984 tour of England (Winston Davis, Milton Small, Eldine Baptiste, Courtney Walsh)

Yes, but why not take marshall, holding, and garner into account.

Marshal 4 matches 24 wickets at 18
Garner 5 matches 29 wickets at 18
holding 4 matches 15 wickets at 23
Harper (a spinner!!!) 5 matches 13 wickets at 21.

Are Johnson, Harris, Hazlewood and Lyon better than those four?

Bit of a myth that the west indies had a great fast bowling quartet when they toured in 84. Obviously three were, but Baptiste, who I think played in 4 matches was average. Davis was pretty awkward, but was only cover. Courtney Walsh did tour, but didn't play in a test.

Three all time great bowlers is pretty good in one team though.

Definitely. A year earlier they had 4, with Roberts.
