Australian Open Day 10-14 - Djokurray! And others! :P
First topic message reminder :
Well some of you hardcore mob will no doubt be up watching the first round matches and even up first thing if your boarding the Fed Express. I will be utilising the power of Sky+!
So we have Federer, Nadal, Murray, Berdych, Gulbis and Dimitov all in action on the men's side.
On the ladies we have Halep, Sharapova, Bouchard, Ivanovic, Kerber and young gun Bencic.
Should be an action packed day.

Yes that is why Murray leads the head-to-head 4-2.
Remind us how your favourite player got on?
So you have changed alliances again???

Would you like me to dig the thread out? Because trust me it wasn't Stan you were rooting for a couple of years ago

If this goes to five sets, you can pencil Nadal in for the final.

Murray takes the third set 6-3 and the noise levels go down on the forum from some.

Good set from Andy; Dimi playing well yet Andy managed to win the set without having to go deep to 7:5 or 7:6.

To be frank with you, we are getting sick as mods having to deal with all this baiting every single time a big player so much as loses a set. It gets hard to keep new posters because of it, and if im honest we dont expect people of your ages to be doing this all the time. Its not everyone but it clearly derailing this topic, soo lets get back to the tennisJahu wrote:CaledonianCraig wrote:Murray takes the third set 6-3 and the noise levels go down on the forum from some.

Stop with these big inter-planetary words
Murray's backhand has been a bludgeoning menace, Dimitrov's forehand has been laser precise but it can't break down Murray who's running like a cheetah with a rocket booster.

Murray needs to keep up the pressure, he must not go passive. Dimis job is easier, smack every ball.

Well it is what I said pre-match - Murray stays aggressive and he wins but goes too passive he'll lose more points than he wins.

Murray has improved hugely from last year, he was really poor at Wimbledon. Dimitrov is playing well here, like he played well at Wimbledon, but he just doesn't have the ability to sustain the tennis he's playing consistently for longer periods.

Murray's quarter is decimated, whoever makes it to the semi final will be in bad shape for a match against Nadal/Berdych

Has Dimi ever beaten a top ten player in a five setter.

1 5 setter is not really decimating, kyrgios may be tired for his QF; but Murray with his fitness won't be tired for the QF or SF.

Dimi would have had back to back five setters if he wins. Kyrgios has been on a bit of a gauntlet himself. Murray is reasonably reasonably sharp, I'm expecting the QF, with a home crowd to be a war again.

Apparently Krygios has been playing with some sort of minor back injury since the start of the tournament, but it clearly isn't affecting his play much. His coach has reportedly been surprised by his durability, but I'm not sure how much further he can go. Fantastic comeback today though

Don't think Dimi can win the fifth, though Andy does not look any better, but does have more power in the reserve for fifth set then Dimi.
