Garcia vs Peterson
so this fight has lost any importance it had, because instead of being a unification bout, they're fighting at 143lbs with no titles on the line.
Boxing is its own worst enemy.

I've never said that Truss, prefer to see a champion hold all the belts than pointless fights like this one.

Just the times we are living in....Catchweight is here to stay !!...... Petersen is only a name because of the Khan debacle.....He's ordinary as the day is long......
Can't say I'm interested in it regardless of belts or lack of them..

I'd say it was marred due to one of the combatants being a confirmed drug cheat.
He should have been slung out of the sport.

You'd be chucking out half the sport.............You know it and I know it !!
So he's less subtle than others...

Then start handing out life-time bans (or at least something meaningful) to the ones who are caught. That would be a start.

It does pose the question why bother with weight classes at all. Just let the fighters decide in the negotiations. Then all you need to do is make up some dopey sounding name for a belt and you're set.

Funny thing about Boxing in the 70s and 80s.............All these guys were enjoying snorting naughty cocaine and yet it never would have entered their mind to slip a few Dianabol tablets down the hatch (That's when Dianabol was Dianabol, not the s**t you get now!!) to help them get in shape quicker !!...
The big money is for the Doctors that can beat the test............Not the ones trying to track the cheats !!...
Very few principles when big money is on the line.................That will never change !!
Big money also means you can pay people off !!
Why should the little guys get banned.

This fight doesn't matter because Peterson is a drugs cheat. How he kept his title and Amir (who I'm no particular fan of) kept the L is beyond me. No interest in watching any Peterson fight.

Re: Garcia vs Peterson
Lamont Peterson (or rather his situation - depends how much of it you want to personally level at him) pretty much personifies a lot of the things that are wrong with boxing:
1. Wins a title with a hometown decision which he simply didn't deserve.
2. Subsequently confirmed as a drug cheat yet gets to keep his belt.
3. Gets his candy ass whooped by a fellow light welter but still keeps his belt.
4. Defends twice against Dierry Jean and Edgar Santan...yeah I know I haven't heard of them either....
5. Finally steps up to fight an the best available opponent in what should be a unification....but none of the belts are on the line because they can't be bothered to make the weight.
For these reasons, I'm out.

Boxing is its own worst enemy.
A juice cheat that shouldn't ever have a belt to defend in what is one of boxing's modern disgraces versus boring (in and out of the ring) one trick pony.
It was 'meh' before and it's still 'meh'.

No interest in watching Lucas cave his face in again? Thats a rematch I'd like to see.

Remember I told you there was something dodgy about Petersons relationship with the ibf in the immediate aftermath of the fight...surely he wouldn't be worth this much trouble?

Isn't it funny.............SKY's Woman of the Year last year was Christine Ohuruogu. The Lady who missed three drug tests in a row. Amazing feat in itself that !!!. But alas she has always been "forgetful" even though running is/was her livelihood !!......
Petersen on the other hand is the devil incarnate...
Gotta laugh...

Don't really give a Poopie about her to be honest, Peterson is involved in the sport we are obsessed with so naturally he's going to get more scrutiny from boxing fans.
Re: Garcia vs Peterson
Juiced or not surely all the drugs in the world couldn't have brought him up to a level to defeat the undisputed P4P king in Khan?
If drugs make that much difference we should negate RJJs win over Ruiz as well?!?
Make your minds up guys.
Hope he gets battered against Garcia though.

To be fair I've been banned for saying far less worse things. Truss must be right under the thumb with the mods.

If some of us go on the fishing forum and mention the word 'stream' we'd get bent over and rodgered with the full might of the mods wrath
Regarding PEDs you've got to be a complete dimwit to get caught in boxing such are the testing procedures/lack of randomness. Rather than governing bodies pick up the crusade (boxing doesn't have one) there should be a worldwide ruling body for all sports regarding testing. How that gets set up and works who chuffing knows! Sick of the cheats like LP, Holyfield, RJJ and co getting away with it!
