I am impressed with the short CC FH and BH from Murray. It seems to have more sting than last year. Bodes well for the final, but Djokovic (hopefully comes out from the other side) is on cruise control, so Murray has his work cut out to get some silverware.

I think regardless of who Murray plays in the final, it will be a very close final. Wawrinka also has wins over Murray in slams and having won last year, he wont have the fear factor. Would be some achievement by Wawrinka to win back to back Australian Opens.

verdasco is a very good player. Need we forget how close he came to beating Nadal in 2009 at the oz open when Nadal was playing some of the best tennis of his career. Ask Murray how easy he was to put away at wimbeldon just a couple of years ago. Verdasco has plenty of game and he was serving well and hitting huge forehands against djokovic.

I would consider Verdasco one of the toughest players you could be drawn against in the early rounds of a slam

Slasher I'm not saying Djokovic is playing badly, he's played well and been very solid.
However I think he still has an extra gear he can find, and he has to find it to beat Murray in this form imo.
Stan is more inconsistent, so it's not actually necessary he needs to find that top gear against him. He can just have a solid match against Stan and win in 4/5 sets.

That was what I was alluding to. Sloppy service game from Andy and Berdych gets a lifeline and a couple of break points but Murray holds on. Was that Berdych's big chance?

Murray's first serve yet to really fire as well as it has in this set. Berdych just needs to hang in there and another chance could come his way.

Much better application and shot selection from Berdych now to lead 5-4 in the fourth set. Murray serving to save the set will need to rediscover some first serves me thinks.

I wonder at times like this why Berdych is a top 10 player.

You watch this and you understand why Berdych has a 6-35 record against Nadal/Djokovic.

well that was a bit of a car-crash game from Berdych there unfortunately. Lost his first serve, and Murray's all over the second serve, Berdy helps out with a few errors, and Murray breaks to serve for the match...

Berdych flakiness comes to the fore and Murray breaks and will serve for a place in his 8th slam final.

Well done to Andy Murray who seals his 8th slam final and if Stan loses tomorrow I think I am right in saying that Murray will move back into the top four.

He finally beats nadal (nitemare match up) in straight sets and then undoes all that hard work against a player who he matches up well against. Absolute clown!

why are people surprised with Berdych blowing it?

Brilliant performance from Andy. I don't think he's ever played consistently better in reaching slam final.

If he plays to the same level he'll give himself a chance no matter who wins tomorrow. Great stuff.

Murray playing better than I've ever seen him.
With the exception of the final against Djokovic, better than Wimbledon 2013. And in USO 2012 Murray was great mentally, but in terms of his play he was more inconsistent than this tournament so far (i.e. he was in big trouble against Cilic).

His biggest match here is still to come though, I can see an epic against Djokovic in the brewing.

Awful effort, awful desire. Tomas plays the match of his life then follows that with the most hideous looking excrement ever.

Not so simple, Nadal was really poor for first 2 sets; while Murray's level here was a joke.
Murray is so so fast now, he's got even faster; only Nadal when he was younger could defend like this.

Berdych, so close, but yet so far.

Wow, great performance from Andy today. Lots being made of Berdych's mental frailties, but I think that's a tad harsh in this instance, as Murray was really on it today and I don't think many would have been able to live with him. Might be getting carried away, but I think this is the most convincing Andy has looked on his way to a slam final. On this form, I think he has a great chance whoever he faces. I'm hoping for Stan, as that will be an interesting big match first and, if they're both hot, I reckon it could be a corker.

IMBL, that may be true but you could see in the 1st set that Berdych had his number. He then goes AWOL in the 2nd set when a mentally stronger player would have gone for the jugular. Even in 4th set he was getting into Murrays service games and then the moment the pressure came on at 5-5, he gifts the game away with double faults.

Just proves that between the ears, he doesnt seem to have the mental strength. I think if Berdych keeps up his level of the 1st set, he wins that match. We have seen it too many times from Tomas though. In truth he would have struggled against novak or stan in the final but i do feel for him a bit. He has been around a long time but that was his chance. He would have fancies his chances against murray more so than the other semi finalists.

that being said, well done to Murray who played well and gets a nice rest now ahead of the final. I think he will go in as slight underdog if its djokovic but if stan gets there, you would probably fancy Murray.

Too easy to say Berdych was poor. He was outplayed. Murray served better, mixed play better, I'm guessing he hit more winners too.

Most of all, Murray moved like an absolute dream. He does look faster than ever. I don't know if he can take it away from Novak, on this court where Novak has such an unbelievable record... But he will have a chance.

He is 100% back at the top of the game.

To be fair to Berdy, he took the fourth set to the twelfth game, so he did fight to the bitter end. Maybe it's time to accept that rather than a mental issue... he just doesn't have it? I always thought it was mental, but I can't really justify how any grand slam winning level player could do so poorly on the second serve against a guy serving at 117kmh at times.
